The new release will be manual update only for the next 2 days just to make sure we catch any issues before the auto update is enabled.

A bit hesitant to upgrade as I read about the following in the Android version of Kodi 18.7.1
“program exceptions when playing DRM-protected streams on incapable devices (due to the devices’ DRM security level)”

"So, with that done, we can start the roll-out once more with a new version of Kodi 18.7 just for Android (internally marked as 18.7.200). This will initially be rolled out on the Play store beta channel, and then - assuming no other glitches trip us up - it will then become the official, final “mass market” 18.7 for Android. It has no impact on other platforms.

Updated manually my Mecool KM8 (S905X) box without any problem. All working perfect for me, playing diverse local files and streaming via “inputstream.adaptive”. Also, DRM protected streams (HBO-Go) work as they should… Did not try Netflix, as I don’t have it on this box, but expect it to work same as with 9.2.2 version.
Btw, info shows Kodi version 18.7 not 18.7.1

No issues here on Odroid N2. Playback is good, CEC works and performance is good. Well done.

Improved handling of several different types of eMMC (ng)

Does this have any implications for the ceemmc tool to install CE to internal eMMC storage? I’ve tried ceemmc on my S905X3 device in the past but it bricked my device. So I restored it with USB Burning Tool and I am now running CE from SD card but I would still like to switch to eMMC for improved performance.

Seems to work on VIM3, except Khadas toneboard no SPDIF out, but that is a different story…

The system info in Kodi doesn’t seem to show the bugfix version number, but it is 18.7.1 for sure.

Improved handling of several different types of eMMC (ng)

Hi,
I tried the “manual” update process on an Odroid N2 (update-channel 9.0, available version 9.2.3).
The version that was downloaded was appearently not a -ng version, coreelec refused to install it (“downgrade to kernel 3.1.4 not supported”).
However, downloading the file directly (https://github.com/CoreELEC/CoreELEC/releases/download/9.2.3/CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.2.3.tar) and placing it in the update-folder did work.

Inputstream adaptive seems to not working properly

Edit: Allright, for this specific addon, after update there is need to restart of the box (to create symlink I guess?). Would be good to mention it somewhere, to prevent any further false alarms  After that works just fine.

Hi,
Same here as refraingott, Manual update on Odroid N2, downloaded update (-ng file) through GUI, when updating, on reboot, says don’t want to downgrade Kernel to 3.14…

Thanks for all your work!

Thanks for the hint about the manual update problem. The tarball used for the Amlogic-ng update on our server was the same as the Amlogic one. :see_no_evil:
This is fixed now.

Sorry for the confusion.

I’m sorry?

Dear relkai,
Thanks for your update. I can confirm that all is now good with Odroid N2 on my side, running 9.2.3 now.

Cheers whole team, have a nice evening!

Probably because you are running an old version (2.4.4) Install this updated one: https://relkai.coreelec.org/addons/9.2/Amlogic/arm/inputstream.adaptive/inputstream.adaptive-2.4.5.1.zip
With this version, I had no problems nor needed a restart for it to work…

This version seems to have resolved some dvb-s and TVHeadend channel switching issues which I was experiencing on the S912 platform. Previously I was getting lots of system lock ups and refusuals to switch channels when using TVH.

Shoog

The stable addon repo also contains this version, now. No need for a manual installation anymore.
