It’s strange and we need to know to check some items on the CE system why it will crash.

I have turned it on

Cube 2nd gen the resolution.ini gives me top half split screen on every boot. Using the CE-NG resolution.ini fix it temporarily but it revert after i go in fireos and back to CE-NO.

Hi, I’ve 2 issues. First I’ve 2 DV files that don’t play: they simply get to a black screen with only audio working. These files do play fine on a FTV Stick 4K Max with Kodi. –> Log

Second I got few crashes and reboot during playback, the latest was yesterday night. After the reboot I restarted the playback where it was cut off and then it went flawlessly till the end –> Crash Log

Many thanks for your time and for all the passionate work you do for all of us.

Nobody thinks it would be just much easier when we get a sample to reproduce or to read log files for hours?

Sorry, I thought I understood posting log was the common practice. There you go: Sample

Why you setup a white list? CE Kodi pick up the best already by itself.
You enabled whitelist and double refresh rate also.

So it pick up 2180p48Hz what is not a valid mode:

2026-07-09 19:20:28.943 T:1038    debug <general>: CAMLDRMUtils::aml_set_drmDevice_active - use mode[10]: 2160p48hz
2026-07-09 19:20:28.944 T:1038    debug <general>: CAMLDRMUtils::aml_set_drmDevice_active - failed to set drmDevice mode: 2160p48hz

How you get 2180p48Hz at all for whitelist?
It’s not in the display EDID.

Remove your whitelist!

EDIT:
The 48Hz comes from QMS support by the TV.
The next nightly will have the QMS modes be removed.

I keep getting random small freezes in this show, happens at the same time every time then it creates a huge delay

Same, I’m getting stuttering issues and my log is full of “large audio sync error”.
I started having this issue since nightly 20260703.
I had to revert back to nightly 20260629 (the last known good version for me).
PS: My box is Ugoos SK1.

Same here.

Is your file 25fps/25hz by any chance?

EDIT: NVM, doesn’t seem like it according to your log. Dunno what triggers it then, all my other files are unaffected.

Sample play fine from SMB.

More information: file plays fine with VLC on Windows. So it’s not a file problem, I think it’s CE. Where does it come from, don’t know yet. I got files that get “large audio sync error” too, don’t know why these files and not others.

Yeah plays fine on windows, I just watched a DTS-HD film and had lip sync issues with that, had to go back 10 seconds to fix it, swear it was fine a week ago.

If I don’t set up the white list it doesn’t pick up the correct resolution. As a matter of fact for example 1080p are played back at 4K, or better, actually everything get played back at 4K.

I turn on the “double refresh rate” because I had some 720p 25Hz files that triggered the correct whitelisted resolution, but then the video got shrink in a small corner of the screen like it wasn’t upscaled. Also the gui shrinked that way and become unmanageable. They only way I found to proper playback them was turning on that option: playing them at 720p 50Hz and everything worked as expected.

However I tried to remove all the whitelisted resolutions and those DV files still don’t work. I don’t understand if you were implying that the wrong resolution was the cause of the black screen…

Try last nightly and only repos with logs are valid.

CE use another buffer mechanism to decouple audio and videos. So they don’t block them each other. Open player debug and watch the buffer levels what does happen.

I’m having a issue where when I start playing the video, it loses sync and then appears to switch to part of the boot logo. If I pull up the OSD, then it goes back to the video. I’ve uploaded a 30s clip that reproduced the problem.

And CE debug log?

both mounted and smb do the same for me, on the latest nightly
