It’s not just offtopic, is “offforum”
Well, no wonder that i dont see the option since my PC monitor is not dolby vision that im using to config the box while surfing the net at the same time trying to gather info.
I tried to swap to the ATV14 version of dovi.ko. Bootup logs are here: https://paste.coreelec.org/EscapedItching
That is quite high flying info and i unfortunately cant say myself whats that all about or if the menu would appear with the right monitor.
Also, do you mean DV FEL will work with CE-NG in ATV14 enviroment, or just DV MEL? Im ordering LG oled C4 in closeish future that i would like to use for FEL content, trying to get the box working before it arrives so i can just plug&play.
Thanks for the info sofar.
Log file says “dv capability 7”, which means dovi.ko is the right one and Box supports DV. So it should work straight when connected to DV capable TV.
Has anyone compared the picture quality of S905X4 vs S922X based devices? I mean oversharpening, colors, DV tint issues?
DMDreview’s recent video says that S905X4 devices don’t support FEL, but this forum is all about them supporting FEL:
I have both types, ugoos amb6 boxes, and homatics boxes. Don’t see any difference in CE NG build.
Of course the 922 boxes has lot of power, in the menus, but the video quality same. The dv p7 fel working on both boxes.
That’s what I’m reading everywhere, but @DMDreview states otherwise in this video, what I’m very surprised about.
Then he sayd wrong. Fully supported.
Early on in the video he is describing the behavior outside of CoreElec. As in with Android / Dune OS. That is a true statement in the context of those operating systems. CoreElec is the only OS where you will get FEL playback for the S905X4.
Later on in the video he states you can dual boot the Dune 4K and get everything CE has to offer, including FEL. See around the 8:26 mark.
Thanks for clarifying that! Good to read it!
I acquired a pre-owned Dune Homatics Box R 4K Plus, and is running the latest Android TV 12.
In the Dune app DV P7 did play, but FEL test files used to not play FEL, and hence I jimped onto CoreElec.
I have installed 21.2 stable CoreElec-no build, loaded the dovi.ko and see “DB capability 7” in dmesg.
However I am confused about CE-ng, -ne and now -no.
What are the differences and which one is the best one out there? Do we have DV for -ne as well? I have seen -ne on GitHub releases page, but not -no.
Please help to clear my confusion
you need to use NG for DV FEL playback.
The differences between ng, ne, no you can see here:

Thanks for the clarification.
When playing Dolby Vision FEL 4k video I have what looks like 8 pixels from the right side of the image wrapped around to the left side of the image. Is this a known issue? I’m using Homatics Box R 4K Plus with CE-NG 21.2-Omega_nightly_20250422.
interesting, don’t think anyone has reported such issue before. Does it happen with every FEL title?
If not, it might be something movie/release-specific (or handling of some corner-cases by the NG).
It is exactly the same with every FEL title. The UI is also shifted 8 pixels to the right while the video is playing.
Never seen similar.
Which tv is that?
Maybe anything in tv setting…
Sony Bravia XR65A95LU. There’s no problem with Dolby Vision content played via the Netflix app. Are there older nightly builds available so I could find out when the issue started?
Yes, but I mean from hdmi input.
Pixelhift, overscan, or similar…
No nothing like that. There is a pixel shift setting for reducing image retention but that has no effect on this issue. I’ve also tried multiple HDMI inputs and it makes no difference. It goes back to normal as soon as the Dolby Vision enabled video stops playing. HDR10 videos are fine. The same hardware used to be fine with Dolby Vision content so it seems to be a problem that was introduced recently. I’ve not been able to find previous builds to install to find out when it started.
