CoreELEC settings won't open

Hi,

I just don’t know what I did, but after running CoreELEC 8.95.6 for a while I’m unable to open the CoreELEC settings in the settings menu anymore: Clicking on the menu item simply does nothing!

Please advice …

Thanks!

Please turn on debug logging, try and enter it again and then provide your kodi.log.

Sorry for taking so long, just was too busy to get around it.

That’s all I have with advancedsettings.xml logging set to “4” with regards to the CoreELEC settings:

19:20:13.087 T:3550561136 DEBUG: CPythonInvoker(10, /usr/share/kodi/addons/service.coreelec.settings/default.py): start processing

Anything else I should watch out for? Do I need to activate something else debugging-wise to make progress? The rest of the box / installation works perfect, just the CoreELEC settings menu won’t open.

Thanks!

Just tried again, here a bigger snippet:

I’m experienced with Linux / command line stuff, so is there any way to start / debug the settings addon from my box’ shell directly?

Any further advise here? Still having that issue unfortunately …

I don’t know what your issue is, I have tried with a fresh install and there is no issue, you could try remove the folder inside /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data, reboot and then try again.

Hi guys,

I ran into this issue before and the solution (after some searching) was very simple: i deleted the coreelec file where settings are stored.
After that i was able to open the settings section again (and had to reset all configs).

I guess the settings file can get corrupted.

Hope it helps

I have the same problem when i update to coreelec 19.

Where can i find this file?

usersettings\addon_data\service.coreelec.settings.

I had the same error, but not always. Removing the settings only helped temporarily. For me it was my (unsupported) skin causing the issue. Switched skins and haven’t seen the error since.

Same issue here with an X96 Air
