Crash Logs

Hi all,

Been using the N2 for a couple of months now with the nightlies and over the last couple of weeks I have noticed regular crash logs about everyday or two. Also happened this morning on version 9.0.3.

The odd thing is it happens when the N2 is not being used, like in the early hours of the morning. Take the one for this morning at 8:03AM when the N2 was not being used and was last used at 20:44 the night before.

Here is today’s crash log.

Any ideas appreciated.

TIA

No ideas anyone?

It looks like some PVR related issue…
May be some epg update or something related… Check that you don’t have non-working links in PVR/EPG settings somewhere

Thanks, will check that out.

I’m not saying your wrong, just curious how you came to your conclusion.

It’s kodi or addons related - 100%
In crash dump I see

#11 0x00477048 in PVR::CPVRGUIInfo::UpdateQualityData() ()
#12 0x004771f0 in PVR::CPVRGUIInfo::Process() ()

Now assumptions:
So it possible somehow related to PVR
I know that kodi can crash if he stuck on EPG update, I had this issue…
And it looks like some scheduled action. if you don’t use box at this time.
So this is not 100% the reason, but as something to check…

Thanks, I will also check if those lines are in the other logs too.

Checked and could not find anything, however problem is still happening. Crashed again at 2:22AM this morning.

See log here.

This oddly feels like an instability problem. Is your N2 overclocked?
Also, try a fresh install on a different SD card, could be a bad card.

No, N2 is not overclocked.

Not using SD Card, using eMMC.

Also, does not seem to be at a consistent time either.

I’d try removing the emmc and using an sd card.
Another thing would be to try and downclock the SoC a bit and see if it fixes the issue.

No, it looks like kodi issue, not system…
Could you also upload full log?
go to smb share and upload file \IP\Logfiles\ and upload latest file (after kodi crash and no system reboot)

Here is the log file.

It crashed last night at approx 1AM when it was not being used. Using SD Card instead of eMMC and I had debug enabled.

TIA

Greg

Try to clock the CPU down to stock 1.7 (A73) and 1.8 (A53) and see if it still happens.
And/or could be the power supply.

Did not make any difference.

Anything helpful in the logs?

Try tomorrow nightly, there are some PVR related fixes in 18.4. May be it could solve your issue.

Thanks, will give that a try.

BTW - Have uninstalled and re-installed TvH Server and Client and that has not fix the issue.

Unfortunately I’m still getting the random crashes when not using the N2 since updating the the recent nightly, that includes 18.4. I suspect, have no proof, it has something to do with TvH and maybe the epg updates that happen every two hours.

Crashed yesterday at 21:25, when not being used.

Here is dmesg for around that time:

As I said early this is Kodi and addons related…
What TVH server and Client version do you use?
Are both of them on this device?

TvH Server - HTS Tvheadend 4.2.8-27 ~ CoreELEC Tvh-addon v9.2.120
TvH Client - 4.4.18.2
CE - Latest nightly

Both Client and Server are on the same N2
