Encrypted Physical Blu-Rays Not Playing

I just checked on my Intel/Ubuntu system, and it does work… but only with the VUK/VID stuff. I guess since libaacs isn’t working, it makes the disc play button appear to do nothing. Note, I don’t have Kodi set to show that menu for selecting how to play the disc, so there would be no feedback of the button working.

Either way, the path within Kodi ends at that same spot in video player.

To close out this thread, the issue had been fixed in master but never backported to v18 Leia.

If you want you can try this image with backported PR17145.

Works! Thanks a lot vpeter!

The play disc button doesn’t work on one system, but that’s a different problem. I’ll create a new thread for it should I need help.

Great. Putting the patch in my bag then

Here is the aacs folder, if you have time, please add support for 4KUHD encrypted physical disks.
Here is the doom9 forum post, not sure if it helps
Thank you very much!

@bluesea you’ll need to look at your log and identify what the issue is. If you look at PR17145, which Peter links above, UHD BR discs were tested.

I do not have UHD BR discs, only HD BR discs.

I download the KEYDB.cfg ( Language English) from here.

Your error is with regard to not having a decryption key. You need to resolve that. See the ArchWiki link above in this thread.

Sorry, I’m not understanding how to do it, it’s too hard for me.
I can play 4K UHD encrypted disks with my PC.

Unfortunately, providing any assistance with acquiring working keys is probably against the community guidelines of the forum.

Thank you.
I generated a new KEYDB, but it still won’t play,Display: The disk or file is encrypted.
I’m out of ideas, I’m not a smart person.

You stated that it plays fine on your PC. Was that playing in Kodi on the PC? If you didn’t try it using Kodi, please try using Kodi on the PC.
