H96 Max X3 Failed to start kernel variables

Hi all,
I have an H96 Max X3 which works perfectly fine except that on boot it takes quite some time and I get a message saying ‘Failed to start Apply Kernel Variables’ and to check the status of the systemd-sysctl service.

When I check that I notice lots of errors such as the below:
Feb 07 16:05:55 H96 systemd-sysctl[3417]: Couldn’t write ‘120’ to ‘repeat_peroid’, ignoring: No such file or directory

The rest all appear to be similar, such as could not write Poweroff, couldn’t write TV Guide etc.

Before I do a fresh install, are there any places I should look to see what’s causing the error?

Just to add, this is on 9.2.5 with the sm1_s905x3_4g_1gbit dtb

Does sm1_s905x3_4g_1gbit DTB work for h96 max x3?
