Hello,
on my box GTMEDIA GTC (s509d with 2g ram)
CoreELEC-Amlogic.arm-9.2.1-Generic.img.gz
or
CoreELEC-Amlogic.arm-9.2-nightly_20191215-Generic.img.gz
-playback of this 4k hevc video is very stuttering, all 4 CPU cores are on 100%.

In opposite with old LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2.5-Chroma.422.10bit.img.gz on this device is playback O.K.

Try a clean install. It’s not using hardware decoding due to some sysfs missing or not accessible.

It was a new installation, not an upgrade! It doesn’t make sense without using hardware decoding, indeed.

Make a new installation using another SD card.
It´s not a software issue
