NEW Repo for Remote files (Thanks to Betatester)

Hello friends,
I have Tanix Tx 3mini, (S905W, 2GB RAM), and I have a problem with IR remote on this box during playback one video format, when I playback this video, ir not responding. HDMI CEC is still working…can anybody try this video playback on your coreelec box and write to me if your IR remote is working during playback? thanks!

I don’t know how remote and video file can be related. For me all works good with this file on S912 box.

today I try playback video file on Vorke Z6 and Odroid C2 and there is not any problem, problem is only on tanix tx3 mini, it is interesting

This is a mess. I don’t have any of these files in my /storage folder, including .config or anything like that. I found a command to resolve defining the factory shipped remote with the MeCool M8S W and the procedure that works is here: [Solved] Mecool M8S Pro+ not working . It appears the software has been vastly changed since this thread was started. Pity anyone trying to get an answer on how to add a remote - there needs to be a wiki on it.

Krypton style IR remote configuration is back!

Since CoreELEC was created the number 1 complaint we have seen over and over again and the biggest source of frustration for our users has been how poor the user experience is with the bundled infra-red remotes that come with generic devices compared with older Krypton based builds. CoreELEC by default uses meson-ir which allows you to use almost any remote of your choosing to control your device, this works okay when it is setup and configured correctly but not everybody is a power user and so…

You do, you probably have display hidden folders unchecked in the CoreELEC settings.

Also bear in mind that some of the folders have a different name (although very similar) when viewed as a pc folder via windows file manager.

Was seeing the same file structure with PuTTY and with WinSCP I don’t have a storage/.config directory.

Gentlemen, I came to see if I can get help with putting my Philips SRM-5100 Universal Remote to work with CoreELEC.
Not to give a laugh, friends, it was not used at all.
I bought this control 10 years ago this in the flawless box.
I bought it to use with (XBMC Media Center)

Anyway I connected the usb adapter in the box without success!
The same works with and without the USB adapter.
USB adapter for PC only
I have the Lirc file of it.

I would like to replace control mecool KI Pro.
It is possible to use in CoreELEC or I can discard.

That’s strange that looks like an MCE remote I haven’t got one to hand but it used to work without the adaptor. Are you currently using a custom rc_maps.cnf file if so try it without it.

I’ll try tonight to get home, because I’m going to do a clean installation.
The lirc and ultil for the settings and need editalo?

It should work with a clean install no remote file loaded. I will try to dig out a remote and try it myself tomorrow.

@erbas I just tried it with a different MCE type remote on a fresh install and it worked on my meecool box without rc_maps.cnf. I did not need the receiver plugged in.

Just like you said, you did not have to do anything, it just works.
Very fast, excellent alternative!
I had this control saved for 10 years.

Need only make a few adjustments the power button just delays the box

You wont be able to use that remote to turn the box on only the original one will do that. I Never turn mine off you only save about 4W by turning it off
