Nightly builds

Asking my magic glass bowl, Hmmm nothing. Still working.

Very funny, I did a fresh install on microSD. I installed the Waipu add-on and I’m getting the same problem. Even the coolest crystal ball is useless in this case.

Well, I guess I’ll have to create an error log.

I did a quick test with the same file as earlier.
And it is very promising.
I can’t reproduce the “pause/play stutter”, like yesterday.
But it was just a quick test.
Thank you for that both of you

Test on 20260929 nightly: Subtitles for seamless‑branched videos desync starting around 7 minutes. For testing, use the 10th subtitle track. Thanks.

On my Odroid N2+, I was able to pinpoint the issue with WaipuTV’s caching: CoreELEC AddOn / Hardware / CPU control was set to “ondemand”. I switched it to “Performance”, and since then everything has been fine.

However, on my X96 Max+ Ultra, it’s also set to “Performance”, but the problem persists. Perhaps I’m using the wrong dtb.img file?

I used the X96 X4 S905X4 4G (100MBit) sc2_s905x4_x96_x4_4g file.

Unfortunately, the problem isn’t really gone.

AM9 Pro nightly 20260929
“If you click ‘Suspend’, the device will enter standby mode and the USB ports will be disabled.”
“The same applies to: Settings > System > Power Saving > Shut Down > Suspend.”
However, the USB ports remain on even when the device is switched off (shut down).
This issue has still not been fixed.

Because nobody works on it?
Make PR?
Insert big coins somewhere?

Why isn’t anyone working on this? After all, you’re the ones who are supposed to sort this out.
If you want money, why don’t you release a paid CoreELEC Pro version – but then everything has to work perfectly.
Because we’re not all going to pay for half-baked solutions.

Interesting conclusion.

And how much exactly are you willing to pay for.

You don’t pay nothing for what you get. Which means you already wins.
Now I have even less interest to check this out.

This is really funny :innocent: It will help with my sleep today and tomorrow

Well then, sweet dreams

If I understand correctly USB was off with previous Android fw release? If this is true than ask at Ugoos what have been changed in regards to this behaviour. Because nothing was changed on CE side.

No, in firmware version 2.10 the USB ports only switched off in standby mode; when the device was shut down, they remained on. The same applies in firmware 2.20.
sorry for my no good englisch

Feel free to work in it an send a PR, or remain silent

I hope others will join me so that I’m not one of the only ones submitting PRs from the community :face_with_tongue:

It’s fun and we all benefit!

Because no one follows orders anymore. I had this in my calendar and in our morning meeting I ordered all the devs to work on it immediately. I’m starting to think that one went golfing, 3 went to the strip club and the others just abused our beer refrigerator.

I scaled this up and the CEO will take care of it when he comes back from the brothel.

How can I roll back to inputstream.adaptive-22.3.21?

inputstream.adaptive-22.3.21.1.zip (1.6 MB)

Thanks @crazyturk,

unfortunately it didn’t help at all. The strange dropouts are still happening. It only affects some TV channels, like “ntv” - German news television.

Then the problem is another

Hi,I have a strange issue when I skip forward/back in HEVC videos… Right after the jump the new picture shows up only half done: the top part is already the right image, but the lower part is just vertical purple/grey stripes. It’s gone after a split second, but it happens quite often when I press +10s / -10s a few times in a row, and it’s really annoying to watch…

My setup:

  • Ugoos AM9 Pro, CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_nightly_20260929 (had it on the 20260928 one too)
  • Kodi 22 RC1 (same on Beta 2), 4K output, Denon AVR in between
  • x265 files, 720p and 1080p anime. Happens when playing from Plex and also with a local file on the box, so it’s not a network thing.

I dug around a bit with some help:

  • the decoder doesn’t report any errors (vdec_status shows 0 errors / 0 drops)
  • it’s one decoder reset per jump, nothing weird there
  • if I set /sys/module/aml_media/parameters/debug_flag to 0x10000 (don’t keep the last frame), the stripes are gone – but then the screen goes black for a moment on every jump, which isn’t great either
  • double_write_mode=1 or fast_output_enable=0 made it worse

I filmed the TV with my phone (60 fps), the attached picture shows the frames right after a jump: stripes at 0 and 7 ms, at 23 ms the rest of the picture comes through, at 40 ms it’s clean.

Anyone else seeing this? Happy to test a build or send logs if that helps…
