Open a folder as a menu item, 10 hours later?

Why is this so difficult.

Right i have been on this now for 10 hours, i have tried every single menu item available, i have tried manually typing the source out, nothing works.

I had this problem before, i have no idea how i achieved it and its doing my head in.

On my menu i have this

ALL MOVIES - OPENS UP ALL MOVIES
MY MOVIES - POINTS TO MY MOVIE FOLDER
KIDS - POINTS TO KIDS MOVIE FOLDER

BLAH BLAH

Now kodi on my pc, when i select either the my movies or kids, it opens that particular folder only, so i only see those fims. opens up in normal view with posters covers details ect.

Now swapping to odroid from pc, for the life of me i cannot get this to work, it just opens up in a file manager type of view?

I have added sources for all the directories, but am unable to see or select any of them.

Question. HOW DID I DO THIS BEFORE??? i cannot even replicate it on my pc, totally shot away!!!

Nevermind sussed it, had to do 4 seperate things just to get it to work, who designs this cack.

Its remembering lol,

I went to file manager, added each folder as a source.
the added the sources in Video sources
Then made them favourites
Then added the menu items as favourites.
Checked it worked, then deleted the favorites so it does not appear in my faves list.

Why not, select folder, show as item lmao. Maybe a skin thing, im using estuary mod 2.
