I’ve read about it but tbh I don’t know if I should do it, i need a better beginner friendly guide, there are several things unclear to me.
Edit:
I gave it a go but couldn’t properly do the last two steps and it didn’t work, I’m using terminus on android and don’t know how to save the changes.
coreelec=‘quiet toram disk=FOLDER=/dev/data’
and what is instructed later:
add this line in /storage/.config/autostart.sh
to unmount storage partition from USB stick
mountpoint -q /media/STORAGE && umount /media/STORAGE
The instructions are not easy to decipher for someone who doesn’t do this often, can anybody help? Everything else I was able to enable.
Edit 2:
I tried my best to get it working and it’s now working perfectly fine, just needed to get the hang of it and this fixed my issues, it’s now scanning even faster than the android kodi app!
The scan speed is really impressive, maybe a ssd usb device imho is necessary to to make it properly and I also added the full remote keymap with the other guide.
Edit 3:
So far so good, I still have three things on my agenda to fix/adjust:
-
The remote workaround to get all the buttons to work properly didn’t apply/work. I try it again later.
-
One of my videos have some sort of visual issue, I couldn’t find another file that reproduces this and it does not happen with mx player or on my phobe.
I’ve found a thread with a similiar issue (changing the bit depth/other settings didn’t fix it) on the same device, I will upload a sample later to figure out why it’s glitched on this.

And I’m not sure why exactly but using DolbyVisiob plugin on the usb stick and enabling SDR to HDR black screened coreelec, renaming the file, changing the settings and ree enabling dolby fixed the issue. -
When I use the shutdown option it somehow turns on again after a while, I think coreelec triggers hdmi cec on my lg tv but don’t know why. Suspend seems to work out
