SoC S7D S905X5M

Why would I purchase one of these >>> x96 m200??

Perhaps you need to piece this exact size to fill in your Lego Death Star.

I managed to get my X88 Pro X5M working with the latest build (20250814-Generic) using the s7d_s905x5m_2g_1gbit.dtb.

First, I booted into the installer via adb reboot update using a USB SD card reader. After installation, I rebooted from the SD card; still working perfectly.

Overall, the system feels very responsive; actually smoother than my Odroid N2. I’ll test with some movies later.

Ethernet is running great:

[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate Retr
[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.10 GBytes 943 Mbits/sec 0 sender
[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.10 GBytes 941 Mbits/sec receiver

iperf Done.

Wi-Fi is not detected at all (not listed in ip a).
What information can I provide to help identify the Wi-Fi chipset?

Thanks for all your hard work!

Clearly I have no need for the C5 or the m96 m200 but I have been collecting these devices for 20 years and although this isn’t the holy grail it does fit the needs for users wanting cheap single or multi-room networked PVR setups which is why I do this. I don’t need USB 3 so it has many advantages over the older S904X boxes.

Like I have posted the RPi4 speeds are nice and for $40 US I got a 4 GB/64GB with the hope that I can one day resize the emmc an use some local storage. I expect to be be able to mount an emmc in the C5 too, I just haven’t tried that.

Many thanks to the CE team.X96 M200 works wirelessly.

X88 Pro X5M has SeekWave EA6521QF Wifi chipset

Anyway, X88 will not support CE so we have no hardware to test and so it’s not possible to give support. It’s not recommended to use CE with X88 hardware…

Can you share the dtb file?

Why? Use the provided one from the image :grimacing:

Is there an ‘remote conf.’ file for X96 M200 or x96 M300?

Someone could take some time and make it for all of us.

With the s7d_s905x5m_4g_1gbit.dtb file (I have a 4GB/64GB box), my x88 Pro X5M won’t boot into CoreELEC. I’ve tried by pressing the reset button in the AV port, but the box always boots into Android. I currently have Slimbox installed on the box. The box boots into recovery when I use “Reboot to CoreELEC” with the “First Reboot” option, so I wanted to try a different dtb file.

But there is no different dtb file available: mattamore just used the provided one.

The question is did he also have some other firmware installed or it is original one. Connect serial console and you will see what is going on. Or switch back.

I had the same issue with Slimbox and s7d_s905x5m_4g_1gbit.dtb on my X88 with SD Card in Slot. Every time I pressed the reset button on booting I got the Android panic screen. And after reboot I go to Android again. But after the 3rd-4th try after panic screen I switch power off/on (without reset button pressed) it booted into CoreElec. Don’t know why exactly :man_shrugging: So if you have patience try it again or switch back to original firmware like vpeter said.

I’m trying to access the conf file, hopefully I’ll find it.

Initially, I started Coreelec from a USB microSD drive, using the adb reboot update command on Android. Once installed, Coreelec booted from the built-in SD drive without going through USB.
Used the provided DTB worked fine.

That remote looks just like Kinhank G1 (G10)
Try Homatics remote config,it works with G1 remote
