Stuck loading/black screen playing 50fps HLG HDR content on CE AM6b+

Issue: CoreELEC just tries to load the content indefinitely. It also doesn’t switch to HDR or HLG HDR mode on the TV automatically. Pressing Back says its playing but switching to the player, its a black screen with no sound out (black screen in SDR). kodi player interface is responsive… Have already whitelisted all the 4K refresh rates

Hardware: CoreELEC Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega_nightly_20250428 with Ugoos AM6b+ (dual boot config) connected to LG C2, gigabit hardwired playing from SMB.

MediaInfo: on CE on UGOOS AM6b+:img after clicking on the content: https://i.postimg.cc - Pastebin.com (Formula1.2025.Round06.USA.Miami.Sprint.Qualifying.F1TV.WEB-DL.2160p.HLG.H265.Multi-MWR) - i have tried other similar media/files as well (F1 races) but issue persists

sample file + kodi log: HLG HDR file – Google Диск (i start to play the sample file first, then (at 19:45) try to play the full file)

I have searched on google regarding the HLG HDR issue on CE but only results for coreelec YT came up, which was not what i was looking for. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks! And thanks to the CE team, amazing work!!!

no issues playing with other files with DV or HDR10, display mode is switched to DV or HDR10 automatically. HDMI cable is also not an issue as I could play Gemini Man (2019) in 4K DV (Framestor release) at 60fps (verified by processorinfo)

For what its worth, kodi running natively on webos plays this content without any issue in HLG HDR mode (see upper right corner flag in the image posted on pastebin)

Try local playback and also CE-NO.

thanks for the quick reply!

i copied the sample mkv to the internal memory COREELEC>Downloads and played it back from there
1st time, loaded for some time and this showed up - just an array of abstract colours going everywhere Untitled — Postimages
2nd time, same behaviour as the original post
KODI log uploaded to google drive as KODI_internalmem.log

will try CE NO and report back. thanks!

CE-NO build works!! display switches to HLG HDR immediately and works as it should.

tried both via SMB and pasting into internal storage (running off a usb bootable), both play the sample file and full file as it should.

I used CoreELEC-Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250506-Generic.img.gz

so am i correct in understanding HLG HDR is unsupported right now with the current nightly NG build?
