Hi Jamal thanks again and again. Fantastic work as usually.

A new TinyPPI update is now available for download from the repository.
TinyPPI 2.10.2 – Changelog
Everything that landed since 2.10.1.
Continue Watching (new):
- The web dashboard now has a Continue watching row above both shelves: the films and episodes the box was stopped in the middle of, most recent first — the quickest way back into whatever was on.
- One row for both, scrolled sideways. An episode appears as its show’s poster with the episode name underneath, every poster carries the same resume bar and rating badge as the walls, and a tap resumes it where it was.
- Read with Kodi’s own “in progress” filter, holding the 30 most recent titles, and refreshed on the same occasions as the shelves — a film switched off midway is at the front of the row as soon as the box has written where it got to.
- An empty row is no card at all. Films only appear where the film library is offered, episodes only where the series library is.
- The TinyPPI mobile app has the Continue watching row as well.
IMAX Titles:
- Extended the title list: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Lion King (2019), Superman (2025) and several IMAX Enhanced streaming titles (Disney+ and Sony Pictures Core), including Avengers Endgame / Infinity War, Doctor Strange 2, The Fantastic Four First Steps, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man No Way Home, Uncharted and Venom The Last Dance.
- German release names are now matched too, for files played without a library entry — with umlauts counted as spelled out, so “Drachenzähmen” also matches “Drachenzaehmen”.
Thank you for this @jamal2367 we really appreciate it.
TinyPPI Mobile 1.4.8 - Changelog
Navigation
- Floating navigation bar: the bottom bar is now a rounded pill that floats above the content, with a frosted-glass blur behind it.
- Icon-only tabs: the open tab is shown as a wider pill in the accent colour, and screen readers still announce every tab by name.
- Hides while you scroll: the bar slides away when you scroll down and comes back when you scroll up or change tabs. Lists no longer leave an empty strip at the bottom while it is hidden.
- Swipe between tabs: swipe left or right to move to the next or previous tab. Each tab remembers its scroll position.
- Back button: from any tab, Back returns to Live first. On Live you still press it twice to leave.
Films & Series
- New layout: the page title comes first, then a search field, then Continue watching, then All films / All series with a count.
- Search field: it is now a rounded pill that matches the cards.
- Card headers: they match every other card, with the accent marker, the title and the fold arrow.
- Posters: they have slightly rounder corners, the same everywhere.
Everywhere
- Large titles on every tab: DV metadata, History and Settings now have the same large title as Films and Series. Settings no longer has a separate top bar.
- Shorter title: “Dolby Vision metadata” is now “DV metadata”.
Performance
- Smoother tab changes: the neighbouring tabs are prepared ahead of time, so switching no longer stutters. Tabs waiting off screen don’t run timers or react to the back gesture.
- Less redrawing: when the bar comes back, only the lists adjust their size. The whole screen is no longer redrawn on every frame.
For developers
- Demo mode in debug builds: a pretend TinyPPI box runs on the phone itself. Set the server address to
127.0.0.1to get a playing Dolby Vision film, 24 films, 9 series with episodes, continue-watching rows, luminance history and generated posters, all without a real box. Play, pause, seek, stop, volume, tracks, VS10 and starting titles from the shelves all work. Release builds don’t include it. - Dependencies: the tab bar’s frosted glass uses Haze 2.0 (a new dependency). Navigation Compose has been removed and replaced by a horizontal pager.
A new TinyPPI update is now available for download from the repository.
TinyPPI 2.11.0 – Changelog
Everything that landed since 2.10.2.
Web Dashboard in Tabs:
- The dashboard and the separate Dolby Vision metadata window are now one page with six tabs, switched from a floating icon bar at the bottom of the screen, like the TinyPPI app:
- Live: now playing, transport, VS10 and the overlay readings.
- Metadata: active picture, L1 chart and the metadata list. Only shown while a Dolby Vision title is playing;
/metadatastill opens it directly. - Films / Series: continue watching (split into films and episodes), unwatched titles and the full library, open by default.
- History: metrics and events, or a summary of the last title.
- Settings: theme, tint strength, access token and both reports. They used to be in the top-bar menu, which has been removed.
- The open tab is remembered in the address and on each device. The bar hides after three seconds without activity and gives its space back to the page.
- The connection status is now shown in words on phones as well.
Title Dialog & Watched Marks:
- Tapping a film, series, episode or continue-watching tile opens a dialog with Play (resume, or Open for a series), Play from the beginning, Mark as watched, Mark as unwatched and Clear resume point.
- New cards Unwatched films and Unwatched series sit directly under Continue watching.
Other:
- Dips in the player cache are no longer logged as events.
- The series card shows its count as soon as the wall is built.
- All new strings are translated into English, German, Arabic, Hungarian and Chinese.
TinyPPI Mobile 1.5.0 – Changelog
Title Dialog & Watched Marks:
- Tapping a film, series, episode or continue-watching tile opens a dialog with Play / Resume (or Open for a series), Mark as watched and Mark as unwatched.
- For titles that were stopped partway, there are two more options: Play from the beginning and Clear resume point. Clearing the resume point removes the title from Continue watching and keeps its watched state.
- Marks are written straight into Kodi’s library (marking a series marks all of its episodes), and every shelf refreshes right away.
- New cards Unwatched films and Unwatched series sit directly under Continue watching, followed by All films and All series.
Remote Control:
- While something is playing, the phone’s volume buttons control the box instead of the phone. This is on by default and can be turned off under Readings in the settings.
- Every key that acts on the box gives a short haptic tick, if the system’s touch-feedback setting allows it.
- Play and Pause are now separate labels, and the volume is announced in percent for screen readers.
Other:
- Player cache events are dropped from the events list, including ones sent by an older add-on.
- Updated Kotlin compiler and a large code split for easier maintenance.
A new TinyPPI update is now available for download from the repository.
TinyPPI 2.11.1 – Changelog
Everything that landed since 2.11.0.
Recently Added (new):
- The Films and Series tabs of the web dashboard now have a Recently added row under Continue watching: the ten films added to the library most recently and the ten series that got a new episode most recently, newest first.
- Series are sorted by their newest episode, so a show that got a new episode last night is at the front.
- Tapping a film opens the title dialog. Tapping a series opens it in the series card.
Shelves:
- Unwatched films and Unwatched series are now rows that scroll sideways, like Continue watching, instead of a second wall of posters.
Other:
- Removed unused dashboard strings from all five languages.
- The new string is translated into English, German, Arabic, Hungarian and Chinese.
TinyPPI Mobile 1.5.1 – Changelog
Everything that landed since 1.5.0.
Recently Added (new):
- Films and Series now have a Recently added row under Continue watching: the ten films added most recently and the ten series that got a new episode most recently, newest first, on a row that scrolls sideways.
- This row needs TinyPPI 2.11.1 or newer on the box. With an older add-on it is not shown.
Shelves:
- Unwatched films and Unwatched series are now rows that scroll sideways as well.
- Continue watching now shows its count in the heading, like the other cards.
Arrange Your Cards (new):
- Long-press a card heading on Live, Metadata, Films, Series or History to arrange that screen: use the arrows to move cards and the eye icon to hide them or show them again. Reset restores the default layout, Done or Back closes the editor.
- The now playing card always stays at the top of Live. Long-press it to arrange Live.
- The layout is saved for each screen and still works after a language change. Cards that only appear for some titles (for example VS10 or the HDR10 panel) keep their place.
- Settings → Cards → Reset all cards restores every screen at once.
Tabs:
- The new Tabs card in the settings lets you remove tabs from the bar. Live and Settings always stay.
A new TinyPPI update is now available for download from the repository.
TinyPPI v2.12.0
Live TV
- The web dashboard and the mobile app now show the broadcast’s own time for live TV and live radio, taken from the EPG: elapsed time, length, progress and “Ends at” all follow the programme that is on, instead of the timeshift buffer.
- Dragging the progress bar during live TV now seeks within the broadcast rather than within the buffer.
- Live TV without a guide entry now reads Live TV instead of buffer times, and a stream with no length reads Livestream, just like the overlay.
- The overlay’s EPG time row now also covers live radio.
Dashboard now matches the overlay
- Output now shows Passthrough (or Decoding) exactly like the overlay, instead of always listing the sink’s channels.
- Audio resolution is written as
24-bit / 48 kHz, as on the TV. - Bitrate reads
live - (Ø average)as in the overlay; when only the average is known it is shown on its own. - Subtitles show Disabled when the file has subtitles that are switched off.
Format badges
-
The dashboard’s now-playing card shows the same format badges as the mobile app instead of the format logos:
- Picture: resolution (UHD, FHD, …), HDR type with Dolby Vision profile and layer (e.g.
DV P7.6 FEL), an arrow for an active conversion (e.g.DV → SDR), and IMAX / IMAX Enhanced - Sound: codec, Atmos / DTS:X, channel layout
- Picture: resolution (UHD, FHD, …), HDR type with Dolby Vision profile and layer (e.g.
-
The badges sit flush with the bottom edge of the poster.
-
Sample:
N/A instead of “Unknown”
- Missing values now consistently read N/A in the overlay, the dashboard and the app, replacing Kodi’s “Unknown” (audio codec, input channels) and the “—” placeholders.
- An empty audio resolution now shows N/A instead of a blank line.
- Rows without a value now appear in the dashboard as N/A instead of being hidden. Cards that don’t apply to the stream (e.g. HDR metadata on SDR) are still left out.
TinyPPI Mobile v1.5.3
- Empty readings now show N/A instead of “–” everywhere: events, metadata values and table cells, and the time and length under the progress bar.
- No more N/A badge when the audio codec is unknown; the badge is simply left out.
- Live TV, the Output row and all other readings now match the TV overlay (requires TinyPPI v2.12.0).
Thank you @jamal2367 !!!
Most Excellent, you often post this is the last change ,you are busy etc…
Yet your tireless work just improves every time.
I have used the Kore app/apk to control Kodi/CoreELEC in the past.
Your Dashboard/APK blows it right out of the water!!!
Amazing!!!
Thanks for the beautiful addon. Absolutely love the remote webserver.
Is it possible to play a movie immediately without getting the resume, mark as watched and mark as unwatched popup. Or atleast add a toggle.
I used to love it from the previous versions . Made immediate jump to the movie fun
TinyPPI 2.13.0
This release is all about making TinyPPI lighter on your box. Most of the work happens behind the scenes: the overlay, the codec-logo splash and the web dashboard do far less work while you watch, and every setting still applies the moment you change it.
Performance
- Settings are only reloaded when they change. TinyPPI used to reload its complete settings many times per second (overlay, splash and dashboard). It now keeps them in memory and reloads them only when you actually change something — changes still apply immediately.
- The web dashboard idles when nobody is watching. With the dashboard enabled but no browser open, TinyPPI no longer builds a full snapshot five times a second. It only keeps recording the playback history once a second, so the chart and the events are still complete when you open the page halfway through a film. As soon as a page connects, it’s back to full speed.
- The codec-logo splash now runs inside the TinyPPI service. It no longer starts a separate Python instance on every playback start (and on every settings change during playback). While it runs, it re-reads settings and colours only when they change and checks the Dolby Vision metadata once a second instead of four times.
- Lighter overlay refresh. Fewer lookups per refresh, and translated labels are cached — a change of Kodi’s language is still picked up within a second.
Codec Logos
- Scaled logos are reused. Logos are cached by their content and size, so they survive Kodi restarts and add-on updates and are only rescaled when a logo or its size really changes.
- Automatic clean-up. Outdated cached logos are removed when Kodi starts or the add-on is updated.
Web Dashboard
- More robust reconnect handling when Kodi shuts down.
- Removed the unused
logosfield from the snapshot and the/media/…image routes — leftovers from before the format badges.
Security
- The dashboard access token no longer ends up in Kodi’s debug log.
Fixes
- Fixed a malformed entry in the Arabic translation.
Housekeeping
- Removed unused code and tidied up the skin files. No visible changes.
Note for Developers
If you have a custom client that reads logos from the dashboard API or loads images from /media/…, it needs to be updated — both have been removed.
Is the repository down? I tried to update to 2.13.0 but it failed, I uninstalled and now it reports install fail for 2.12.0. This is with the latest nightly CoreELEC (build 20260929)

I updated from the repository.
aha, thank you, that was the hint I needed.
TinyPPI 2.13.1
Fixes
- Codec-logo splash without audio: a video that has no audio track now shows its video/HDR logo on its own instead of no splash at all. With both logos switched on, the panel still stays hidden for an audio codec that has no logo, as before.
- Safer file writes: the font entries in the skin’s
Font.xml, your custom colours and the cached logos are now written in one step. A power cut while TinyPPI is writing can no longer leave a brokenFont.xml, and with it a skin that doesn’t load. - Font registration: TinyPPI now asks Kodi directly which skin is active, so it finds the skin no matter how Kodi was started. On a read-only skin, such as the built-in Estuary, it no longer retries on every overlay open and writes an error to the log each time. It tries once, and again only when the skin changes.
Web dashboard
- Faster VS10 switching: switching the VS10 mode from the dashboard no longer starts a new script each time. Several taps in a row are carried out one after another.
- Privacy in the log: artwork paths are only logged at debug level, and user names and passwords of network shares (
smb://user:password@nas/…) are removed from them. - Better error reporting: a dashboard error that clears up and comes back later is logged again, instead of only once per session.
Other changes
- Easier log reading: every log line now starts with
TinyPPI:orTinyPPI [area]:(e.g.TinyPPI [web]:). To share a log, searchkodi.logforTinyPPI.
I really like the New Default Bar Horizontal/Low!
When did you add Press OK to advance/read meta data ,back button to return?
Just noticed it…,so many updates…
@freddy
This should work. This only works with Dolby Vision content. Start a movie in Dolby Vision and press the OK button in the TinyPPI overlay to view the metadata.
TinyPPI 2.14.0 – New colour picker
What’s new
- Kodi’s colour picker for every colour setting
Select a colour setting and pick a tile instead of scrolling through a list of 50 entries. The picker shows TinyPPI’s own palette with the familiar names and swatches. - Custom HEX colours, built in
The last tile in the picker is HEX color. It opens the keyboard with the current colour’s code already filled in, so you can fine-tune a shade instead of typing it from scratch. - See the colour at a glance
Every colour row shows a colour dot and the colour’s name, or#RRGGBBfor a custom colour. The setting’s original colour is marked (Default). - Readable background shades
The background colours are almost black, so the picker shows them as brighter preview swatches. That way the shades can still be told apart.
Improvements
- Much smaller settings file
settings.xmlshrank from about 366 KB to 108 KB. The 67 colour lists and the 67 hidden “HEX color” rows are gone. Kodi parses this file whenever the add-on reads its settings, so the overlay, the codec logos and the web dashboard have less to load. - Simpler translations
Colour names are now plain words without colour markup, so translators only need to translate the name itself. - Removed strings that were no longer used.
Upgrading
- Your colours are kept. On the first start after the update, TinyPPI converts your existing colour choices, including custom HEX colours, to the new format automatically.
- The old
custom_colors.jsonin the add-on’s profile folder is no longer needed and is removed after the conversion. - The opacity sliders work exactly as before.
Screenshots
TinyPPI 2.14.1
Web dashboard
- Much lighter on the box during library scans: the drops of one scan are combined into a single update, the film and series lists stay current, and all open pages share one library query.
- The now-playing artwork comes from Kodi’s texture cache.
- A device that tries ten different wrong tokens within ten minutes is locked out for ten minutes. A page that still holds a replaced token just asks for the new one and does not count against the limit.
- Opened under a name outside the home network (a dynamic DNS name, for example), the page always asks for the token. This also protects against DNS rebinding.
- Other sites can no longer embed the page in a frame, and it loads and runs only its own files (Content Security Policy).
- Open connections are capped at 16 per address and 48 in all.
- The page also works in browsers that block local storage (Safari with all cookies blocked, some in-app web views).
Other
- General stability improvements and internal clean-up.
- New unit tests and a Kodi 22 end-to-end test suite.
TinyPPI Mobile 1.5.5
- The Films and Series tabs leave the tab bar while the box is offline and come back when it reconnects. Before, you saw a grid of grey tiles and every tap went nowhere.
- Switching to another configured address (on the go, for example) no longer counts as offline. The tabs only disappear once every address has been tried, so you are no longer thrown off the tab you are on at each reconnect.
New: TinyPPI wiki
-
TinyPPI now has its own wiki:
Home · CE-Repo/script.tinyppi Wiki · GitHub -
It covers installation and getting started, the overlay, codec logos, colours and themes, the Dolby Vision metadata view, VS10 output modes, IMAX detection, the web dashboard and its security, a full settings reference, plus an FAQ and troubleshooting. Take a look whenever a setting or feature is unclear.
Enjoy!
TinyPPI v2.14.2
Fixes
- Untagged audio and subtitle tracks (common on Blu-ray
.m2ts) now read UNK, e.g.UNK (PGS)instead of just(PGS). - Unknown language codes are shown as Kodi reports them instead of an empty row.
- Without an audio codec, every audio row reads N/A instead of values like
FL, FRor a bitrate.
