Tvheadend wont work with CE 9.0.1 - SOLVED

After upgrading CE 9.0.1 Tvheadend HTSP client 4.4.16.1 wont work anymore. The system hangs if I try to stop, remove or restart the client.
Please help! How can I download old CE releases?

It is very odd that the client show the channel list and EPG info but wont start any channel.

This is in the log:

Works fine for me. All I can suggest is re-install CE dvb driver, and re-install TVH server and client. And reboot. You could also check your TVH setup using a web browser. Is your tuner showing up?

Thanks for your reply. My TVH server (4.2.3-20) runs on another box and I did not touch it. It is very stable and works fine with other clients. It is a bit outdated but I cannot upgrade it due to other issues.
My CE box runs only the HTSP client and it got unstable since the upgrade. It is a shame but I cannot recall which CE version was on the box before the upgrade. Where can I download old install files?

Did you see this post.? My TVH also didn’t work after the release update, but after I followed the instructions, it worked fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the description but it did not help. However I managed to roll back the HTSP client to an earlier version and it works fine in CE 9.0.1.

Based on my test it seems that HTSP client “4.4.16.1” hangs Kodi when it tries to get connected with a HTS Tvheadend 4.2.3-20 backend. When I plugged out the LAN cable the CE could start fine and was responsive. After a while I attached the LAN cable again and HTSP client killed Kodi some seconds later.

These are the log after LAN cable plugged in.

After rolling back HTSP client to 4.3.4.2. It works fine.

The bad thing that HTSP client developers refuses trouble tickets reported on CE as they consider this platform as not supported.

You should try to update your TVheadend server.
The latest stable release is 4.2.7. The 4.4 branch is quite stable, too.

The same client version “4.4.16.1” works fine on Windows with this old TVH server.
Unfortunately the upgrade of server is not possible due to issues on newer releases.
If I have time will install a Libreelec on the box to double check if the problem is addon or system related.

I did a bunch of tests to locate the fault starting with a test with LE.
To make a long story short it seems a restart of backend solved the issue. At least, I cannot reproduce the fault and now CE works fine with HTSP client “4.4.16.1”. I hope it remains stable.
