Sorry for this very noob question but a lot of boxes have X’s in their model names. Like X96, X95, X88 etc.
What does this all mean?

Technically it means nothing.
They’re all Chinese electronic parts bin Mock Android OS products
with no traceable REGISTERED BRAND .
Wouldn’t worry about it.
