24hz content endless buffering

24hz movies (3840x2160 24.00hz, dolby vision p7 FEL) stops due to buffering often. Looking at the playerprocesswindow this seems to be due to the cache being emptied faster than it refills. This does not happen with 23.98hz movies (3840x2160 23.98hz, dolby vision p7 FEL)I have adaptive readfactor in settings, 192mb memorysize and a cachechunk of 1 mb.

My setup: Ugoos amb6+, CoreElec(cpm) CoreELEC-Omega_nightly_20241021, hdmi 2.1, cat 8 ethernet cable, 1000mb/s internet connection.I am using an nfs share.

To reproduce:

  • Start a 24hz movie ((3840x2160 24.00hz, dolby vision p7 FEL).
    • Play it for 20 minutes and it will stop somewhere due to buffering. It will play smoothly until it stops due to buffering.
    • Do the same with a 23.98hz movie (3840x2160 23.98hz, dolby vision p7 FEL). It will play smoothly.

Screnshots

Cut the place out where it happens and share sample. Does it work with local media?

It does not happen at a specifuc place in the movie. It does not happen when playing from local media.

Than network when it works from local?

I have 8 hdds. I cannot have all of them connected locally. So it would be nice if network coukd be an option. The internet connection is 1000/1000. Could it be an idea to test with smb?

Please try to downgrade from nightlies archive before 20241017: https://archive.coreelec.org/.

Like 20241015 and test again.

Sorry to budge in someone else’s thread, new user here of AM6B+ for a week, think I have a similar issue with the OP but in my case I noticed it while playing 1917, Back to the future movies both 23.976 frames P7 FEL remuxes with constant buffering no matter what settings I have modified inside the cache.

I would include a log file if I knew how/which from the /logfiles folder.
Specs : LG C2, HDMI 2.0 high speed 4k120hz, 1GBps Cat7 connection, Plex add-ons: Composite latest vers, PM4K latest, CoreElec (CPM) 21.1.1-omega_devel_20241019053905

Seems the issue was finally solved after I have installed 20241014, the 20241015 nightly was problematic as well.

Then also please try newest nightly 20241026.

Installed latest nightly and seems all is still working fine with no buffering - but installed it late night and couldn’t test much. 20241014 was solid and even DV and Atmos were working together …that is something I never had on my Shield Pro. Many thanks of your continued work on this.
