3D Frame Packed (MVC) output with CoreELEC?

The Ststus page you’re referring to, specifically states that AMLOGIC-NG is supported under 21.2 Omega. The Libre LePotato, is a S905X device, so it would appear it’s not EOL after all.

I’m at a loss when you say it’s EOL. What exactly is EOL, Nexus? That’s not what I’m asking about. My second post says: This question is about the CoreElec 21.2 installation running on my Le Potato.

If the intent here is to blow me off, then please say “we’re no longer doing any development for MVC”, and I’ll be perfectly fine with that, but telling me it’s EOL ???

Especically for you…

That’s very nice. Excellent support you folks provide.

VERY PERSONALIZED !

Welcome to the CE forum culture :).

hey welcome back, I don’t have 3D but going back to this comment posted by Portisch, it seems 3D is only supported in CE22-NO, so what is meant by EOL is that no more development on your platform. Also cool board!

I don’t think many devs here have 3D so that’s why it’s not supported and Portisch has his (valid ) reasons why he’s disgruntled with CSMC. check out this thread for information on 3D

All is for free and nobody is forced to use CoreELEC at all. Take what you get and be thankful, or just not and leave. Switch to a payed setup and do request support there.

3D got also the last “head shot” now by Team Kodi. So it’s really dead now for home cinema as it was since 2011.

When the user fix his media and set correct stereo mode in his media files the 3D experience is same on all CE platforms. CE-NO is just a bit more smart to fix bad media metadata on the fly by itself without any user interaction.

If you would know how much time is spend on this project you would not be so loud. And such attitude having just opposite effect than you think (hint: stopping development?).

@vpeter is right. Ce team from years is helping our community and ask nothing in change, ever a coffee. So pls be grateful and polite here. Thanks CE team.

You got as much support as you paid for. If you need more, pay more.

You have to be a saint to spend a decade into open source software reaching 10’s of millions. I have nothing but respect to everyone involved in CoreELEC. I think normal people would have abandoned after constant negativity. Hope CoreELEC is here for a while longer!

I created an account just to drop a big thanks. Recently picked up an AM6b and installed CoreELEC for the 3D playback. All I have ever wanted was my 3D blurays in Plex on a device. This is exactly what I have been looking for. So far its been flawless!!! This should hold me over until they come out with a new 3D format lol

Hi,

Can the AM6b+ play 3D Blu-Ray iso? Every time I try, the device just crashes. I have to power off and on at the wall to get it working again.

I’m currently on - 21.2-Omega_nightly_20250726
Amlogic-ng.arm

UPDATE : I’ve got it working now.

Anyone experiencing stuttering when watching 3D iso via usb hard drive on the AM6b+.

Was watching Final Destination 5 last night and from around the mid point, it began stuttering and losing audio sync. Skipping back and pausing would correct it for a couple of minutes before stuttering again.

(Ugoos AM6B+) I’m using the NG build too, because it will flawlessy play 3D on my SDR telly. Unfortunatly on 4k HDR i get an almost black screen with shades of the movie.
on the other hand, the NO build will play all 4k content fine, but not 3D. I have also a 905x4 device (Dune HD pro) with the same result, 3D fine on NG and NE, but not on NO.
Have anyone working 3D with the NO build? Is for the Ugoos a NE build avail? (proper dtb file)

3D discs for Kung Fu Panda 4, both recent transformers movies, Despicable Me 4, Puss in Boots 2, Fast and Furious 9 and 10, Super Mario Bros, Scream 6, MI Fallout and many others have been released over the past few years year. Thunderbolts has just been released and Fantastic 4 is on the way. Classic 3D movies are still being restored as well as new 3D conversions of other classic 2D movies. Other 3D movies have been released on streaming that I haven’t mentioned here. Not forgetting the hundreds if not thousands of existing 3D titles available on disc which can be picked up by new collectors.

3D TVs are dead, but there are still new 3D enabled projectors. Virtual Reality might be the biggest growth area is probably the future of 3D media viewing. Yes 3D media is struggling and so is the rest of physical media. But while it is still alive, stop with the “head shot” talk. It’s not helping!

Why?

Who is doing the implementation and fixes?

There is just no usage anymore for such media - except some users…

Ok, as your wish come true I will stop now to save 3D from dying.

You are specifically talking about the need for CoreElec/Kodi support while conflating it with the general health of 3D. I get the support part and although I wish it were different I totally understand your position when physical media and in particular 3D media is struggling. We know the situation so what you are saying is a given, which makes the extra point you made unnecessary and unhelpful overall. If that sounds like I’m being a little sensitive? I am

You don´t understand.
The developer are working just for fun.

Feel free to work on 3D and send any PR, but it is impolite to keep demanding and demanding more

I do understand. I literally said to him that “I totally understand your position” so maybe if you read my post properly, you would also understand too.

3DFP MVC GUI and subtitles is not fixed on CE-NO (22.0-Piers_alpha1),I prefer to use CE-NO. Is it possible to fix this problem?Thank you very much for everything!
