AM6B+ and Audio Passthrough Problems

I have an LG G3 and an Ugoos AM6B+ directly connected by a brand new 6.5 ft. Zeskit Maya HDMI cable. The problem is that I get the Dolby Vision/Atmos notification popup at random times on the tv. This only happens with Audio Passthrough enabled. So I have it disabled for the time being. But this is a workaround. Passthrough should work. I don’t know if this is an LG problem or a CoreElec problem. I am on the official CoreElec current update. Any insight would be great. TIA.

edit: I guess I should ask, should my tv be able to do the Atmos enabled setting? If I enable the AC3 settings only, I get dolby audio and no problems. It says my tv does Atmos, but I am thinking there are different “carriers” for it? And it may not be compatible? Is that correct?

Do you have Dolby Atmos enabled on your LG TV?

The G3 is capable of passing through lossless audio correctly.

I have a G3 and a Cube 2 running CE-NG - more or less the same as an AM6B+ (also own one of those too). When I first got the Cube 2 I had it connected to the G3 with the TV’s HDMI audio set to passthrough and everything worked fine including Dolby Vision and both DD+/TrueHD with Atmos.

Sholander, yes, Dolby Atmos is enabled.

Signde, I don’t have that setting available right now on my tv. It is greyed out and I cannot change it. It is set to Auto. Maybe that’s the problem? I think it is because I am using the tv speakers and not eArc. Were you using the tv’s speakers? And did you enable everything under the passthrough setting in Kodi? I know the speakers in the tv do Atmos, I have used them in other situations with other devices, such as the nVidia Shield.

On a side note, I did a factory reset on my tv last night to no improvement.

On LG TVs, when using internal speakers there is no (it’s grayed out) Passthrough audio option; logical isn’t it?

Yes all passthrough options enabled in Kodi and I used an AVR over eARC, not the TV speakers.

I don’t recommend Auto mode either as the LG TV is still likely to decode the audio before passing it along.

I may have solved the problem by migrating to the device storage. :slightly_smiling_face: I am watching the movie that gave me issues first and no problems so far (17 or so minutes in).
