Amlogic-NO discussion

To be honest I would say ceemmc is EOL.
The Android data encryption is now at such level where it just is not possible anymore to be worked with.

Stability of last built is ok - no random reboot.

Higher using one core of cpu at 100% is according my testing is affceted only using of PVR service (as PVR Simple client or PVR services for addon Freeview.sk and also with resolution of video at 642+360p and higher). But if i watch online TV through addon Antik (which have lots of issue with stability of its archive and is specialized only for specific provider, but also use InputStreamsAdaptive), then cpu going at level of playing local files. Youtube is also OK. So only Simple PVR client have issue.

Thank you for all the work you put into it. It’s getting better and better.
But I have a question, the memory usage (RAM) is much higher than, say, a CE19 Matrix. Is this good?
4GB of RAM is enough for everything, but what’s more worrying is that the memory consumption is constantly increasing during use.
After the system is up and running, say 15% of 4GB RAM, I watch a few videos (even YouTube), it’s already 25%, let’s say the box is turned on for another couple of hours, it’s already 35%.
If I don’t turn the box off for a day or two, will the memory run out?
I always turn it off anyway, so it won’t be a big problem.
And there’s no t0rrent installed, nothing serious is installed, just a few add-ons. And it is a fresh install. No covers, media library, etc.
The CE19 Matrix, with t0rrent (entware), and that system that has been in use for years (not 0-24), can’t go above 20% and the increase in memory usage is also much slower.

Be careful with this command. It bricked my Pro Vision 4K earlier. The only way to fix it was to send it to an authorized service center, as the Dune doesn’t make this type of firmware (bootloader) publicly available.

This is a follow up to an earlier post:

AM9Pro user here, starting with one of last week’s NO-nightlys the BT remote (G20S Pro BT) started acting up (was working perfectly until then). Sometimes it has a long delay, sends numerous commands in a row and after a while stops working completely.

The issue persits over the last couple of nightlys.

Please see the below log - tyhe log was taken after an episode with a long delay followed by numerous commands in a row:

Hi mate

This G20S Pro BT remote, are you using it with the usb dongle?

I built a fresh one today, and it seems to hang every time I stop playing a video (tested on AV1 clips).

Also my IR dongle fails to be detected randomly upon boot. I pasted the debug log here, it’s downloaded right after one boot when the dongle went missing.

Why no Sample?

Sorry, here’s one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nsnKsI4KmD_KlSfbmpxaREdupKOhqyDe/view?usp=drive_link

Hi,

yes, I use the dongle included with the remote.

Your remote control is faulty, check the battery charge, update or change the firmware of the remote control, or replace it.

I’m with vortex on this one. Essentially the dongle makes the box think it’s got a wired keyboard and mouse. Unless you got a bad USB port on the box.

thanks guys! Will change the battery and see what happens. the remote is roughly 3 weeks old, thus the (obvious) battery change had not crossed my mind, let’s hope it is bad oem batteries and not any of the other option.

The G20S Pro model often has similar issues, and a firmware update usually resolves them. It’s best to discuss this on a different forum. In my opinion, the G40s model is better; updating to a specific firmware version can also resolve the issue, and everything will work fine again.

I was trying to find the discussion thread for Piers-NO-Alpha3, but the link that is posted here:

… does not work. Is there no discussion thread yet for alpha3?

The latest nightly 20260508 seems very buggy. Clicking on TVHeadend PVR channels causes a relaunch of the skin and no playback, same for streaming services (Radio Paradise), some NAS media will play.

It seems to be an addon issue because rolling back doesn’t solve it and a rake of the addons were upgraded with the last nighly. I would strongly advise not upgrading as this nighly effectively renders CE unusable and not recoverable without a full backup.

There was a issue with some formats and using the pts server. It should become better with next nightly tomorrow.

Also all add-ons were bumped by LE, so everything needs to get in sync again next days.

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with DTS-HD HRA audio tracks.
Whenever I play a file with a DTS-HD HRA soundtrack, I get no actual audio output. I only hear a faint crackling/clicking noise.

Every other audio codec works perfectly fine, including:
DTS
DTS-HD MA
DTS:X MA
Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital Plus
Dolby Digital Plus (Atmos)
Dolby TrueHD
Dolby TrueHD (Atmos)
PCM

The problem only happens with DTS-HD HRA tracks.

Here is my log:

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this?
I have the same result on S905X4/S922X…

Thanks in advance!

If it’s any use, your sample plays correctly via passthrough for me on s905x5m, my receiver shows DTS HD high resolution and sounds fine.

The issues I was encountering are not resolved with the 20260509 nightly.

I have discovered a sort of work around. If you can find a media which will play - switching subsequently to a “buggy” stream then generally works. This persists until the next reboot or system reset. It seems to be that certain decoders are asleep on reboot and they need a nudge to wake them up.
