Currently if you run at 1080 CoreElec auto switches 4k when playing 4k content.
Something like this also moving down from 1080 to 720/480 when playing 720 or 480 content would be really cool.
Why on earth it would be of any use???
To avoid double scaling, scaling of SD or 720P up to 1080P by the box, and then from 1080P to 4K by the TV.
Just my luck they added whitelisting but decided it would only be “exact” matching of video resolution. All of our content goes thru the ffmpeg crop detector so folks can pick their poison (stretch or normal). Nothing matches perfectly to a display mode
