Buffering problems under NFS [SOLVED]

Did you experience any buffering problems under NFS(v4)? DV movies are sometimes choppy.

  • log
  • Ugoos AM6B Plus
  • CE 21 latest Nightly
  • Cache 64/adaptive
  • LAN (gigabit)
  • RPI4 NFS share exports:
/mnt/PiDrive1/Movies 192.168.1.195(ro,no_subtree_check,all_squash,insecure)
/mnt/PiDrive1/"TV Shows" 192.168.1.195(ro,no_subtree_check,all_squash,insecure)

NFS V4 is buggy implemented in Kodi, use v3.

I tested it for 4-5 hours with v3, but the problem did not go away. All devices here have worked perfectly with NFS v4 for years, except Ugoos.
I hate Samba, but it seems I have no choice.

Thank you for your help!

It shouldn’t be device specific issue.
NFS4 is buggy in Kodi, but works better with network delays.
Could be some performance issue, check that you don’t have plugins that do something in background. Also you can try fresh install on some other usb stick without additional addons to check and compare.

I’ve tried several times but none of the methods have worked. Maybe NextDNS is messing with me…

Or the following default values are not appropriate:

/proc/sys/fs/nfs/nlm_grace_period
0
/proc/fs/nfsd/nfsv4gracetime
90
/proc/fs/nfsd/nfsv4leasetime
90

Strangely enough, switching from LAN to WIFI (5GHz) solved the problem.
