I just went through the log myself and noticed the following suspicious line
DEBUG : UpdateAudioSystemStatus - CEC capable amplifier found (YAS-107). volume will be controlled on the amp
and wouldnât you know it, after disabling CEC entirely and controlling Kodi via Yatse, the setting was saved across restarts / reboots. As soon as I enable CEC again it will be reset just like before.
Currently Iâm just happy that the cause is now found and Iâm not going insane as to why itâs not reproducible for others. But generally, I really like controlling the device with the TV remote and would like to avoid having an additional remote or using my smartphoneâŚ
So to rephrase the original issue then, is there any possibility to disable this âfunctionalityâ in the CEC adapter?
Big thanks to everyone helping out, especially @vpeter.
@freddy you were on the right track with your CEC suspicion.
Maybe have a look here?
I canât see anything that might have an effect here. Or is it implied in any of the options available there?
Looks like this is not possible - sound is adjusted by amp and not Kodi.
I missed that.
