Build Errors

Hello~

I’m trying to build CoreELEC following guide coreelec:build_ce [CoreELEC Wiki].
However, the 404: Not Found error continues to occur after the “DEVICE= Amlogic-ng make” command. I’ve tried for 3 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ah yes the xz drama. Causing quite a stir amongst my fellow Cybersecurity peers. Supposedly a highly sophisticated bad actor infiltrated the xz dev space gained their trust over like a 2 year period, eventually gained authorship of the project and ultimately injected a very nasty remote code execution backdoor. As a result GitHub disabled the xz repo on their end as a safety precaution and due to ToS violation.

In the future if you get 404 issues with sources (e.g. I had this issue intermittently with some of my builds with gnu sources a few times). You can manually download the source package, and then create a sha256sum file, URL and stick all three in the respective source directory and allow the build to continue.

Some issues with Amlogic-ne as well, https://sources.coreelec.org/libaio/libaio-0.3.113.tar.gz returns 404 and other sources either timeout or give error 301.

Original link is h**ps://pagure.io/libaio/archive/libaio-0.3.113/libaio-libaio-0.3.113.tar.gz which works. So it must be someething on your side.
Next time put terminal output to pastebin or other service to see what actually happen.

Yes, now I was able to continue and build Kodi. Must have been a network glitch.

Next issue happened after running make to build CoreELEC, elfutils fails.

On which OS you are building? Looks like not Ubuntu.

It is Ubuntu 20.04.5, running in VirtualBox. I’ve been using this setup for a long time and this is the first time I have issues.

And one more build error in the Kodi part, this time I’ve set up Ubuntu in WSL2, didn’t test if a VBoxed Ubuntu would work. Looks like the packages are just not matching because the checksum oddly varies between the mirrored files.

This is again the issue which happens only for you. This zlib package download here without an issue.

And you should know that WSL is not really something we deal with and no idea about it’s status.
