Do you have some exact file names of the FEL movies? I’m using debrid account and streaming movies but not sure which are FEL.
What should file name contain to make sure?

little bit old list, but good starting point
Thanks a lot… There are some lists but does that mean any DV version of those will be FEL?
not every DV is FEL. lots of UHD is also MEL.
general rule is if the EL is lower than 3mbps, then it is MEL.
take a look at my link of blu-ray forum. and you will see what i mean
Actually I’m trying to figure out if the media info is the only way to determine FEL or any clues about size, something in the file name, title, etc…
I’ve never seen any accepted naming convention that accounts for granular DV profile types.
There is a very expansive list of known FEL titles maintained here.
Even then though, if you didn’t rip the title yourself, the only way to be sure is to check the media info.
Beyond just knowing the main DV profile, when it comes profile 7, to really determine MEL vs FEL you then need something like quietvoid’s dovi_tool. There is also a music media app for Windows than can tell you this (probably also using dovi_tool).
Thanks… I remember that I saw 2 media tracks in some movies during playback in track list. 2nd one was 1080p, might this be a proof of FEL?
Most of the files contain 2 tracks but 2nd one is mostly an mpeg record…
No that’s not how you can identify FEL.
Thanks for the answers…
I cannot use media info tools because I’m not downloading the files, just watching as online streaming with debrid account. That is why I’m trying to find out a different way to identify FEL.
Banned add ons, you’ll get no help with that here.
or if you have the video file, you can use dolby vision detector v2
it is only working if you have the file on your computer storage.
FEL/MEL can only be defined by decode the RPU.
No banned add-ons/services please. We don’t care where you get your stuff, we don’t allow their mention here.
Where do you see banned add-ons/services in his post?
Btw, kodinerds.net and Kodinerds repository and all apps in it are NOT banned by official Kodi…
Of course not, I use them. You don’t see them because I edited the references.
vasco meant the word “DEBRID”…..i changed the last line of my post, totally new text
A while back I developed a technique for identifying the DV profile and EL type using ffmpeg and dovi_tool. I have a script that runs on a nightly basis that walks my entire media library, performs the identification process, and then applies tags in my Plex server containing the detail about DV Profile and EL. A version of the script is here for reference:
For the curious, this tool works by using ffmpeg to slice the first second of a particular video, then uses that file with dovi_tool to extract the RPU and then pull the relevant DV details.
Hope this is helpful!
I remember when you posted this in the avsforum Ugoos AM6B+ thread.
I use something similar created by another user there which simply dumps the results out to a txt file. It differentiates DV vs HDR vs SDR.
I like that your solution tags the DV data back to Plex, I think I missed that you later mentioned you added support for this. That is quite handy and I put this on my todo list to revisit.
I really should make the script something more formal than a gist on GitHub. It would be pretty trivial to add more features, like outputting reports, differentiating between SDR, DoVi (including profile and el), HDR10, and HDR10+, tagging in other media servers, etc.
I’m honestly surprised this isn’t a baked in feature of Kodi, Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby.
