CE Stable vs Nightly vs CPM Builds - Which is Best for Passthrough with OLED TV Processing?

Hello CoreELEC Community,

As a proud owner of the Ugoos AM6B+ and a videophile enthusiast, I primarily enjoy watching untouched UHD Blu-ray rips and remuxes (Main movie without UHD/Blu-ray Menus). Currently, I have the nightly builds installed on my Ugoos AM6B+. While I appreciate the frequent updates these nightlies receive, I’m beginning to wonder how this might impact the overall performance and stability of my viewing experience.

Specifically, I’m looking for recommendations on which CoreELEC build would provide the best and most stable performance for passthrough, especially since my Panasonic OLED TV handles the processing (Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR10). Should I continue using the nightly builds, or would it be more beneficial to switch to the stable release or consider a CPM build?

I would love to hear your experiences and suggestions. What has worked best for you regarding passthrough performance with OLED TVs? I look forward to your insights!

Thank you!

I think the stable version is now to old to recommend. I prefer nightly and at the moment i use the CPM build with Arctic Zephyr Reloaded for CPM.
May i ask which Panasonic you have and can you use TV led DV? My Panason GZW2004 from 2019 only understand Player led (LLDV).

Hi ug9923,
I have the Panasonic OLED TX-HZT1506 (HZ1000, HZ1500 & HZ2000 TV lineup) TV Led works perfectly fine for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ no issues have been observed so far.

If I understand correctly CPM builds are tailored enhancements that focus on improved HDR processing among other features, or am I completely wrong about this? Thanks.

Yes, the CPM build uses the VS10 chip for HDR conversions. But i only use the feature “prefer DV over HDR10+”. And it exposes many technical informations (which needs modified skins to display them).
So my Pana is just one year too old.
