CoreELEC 19.5-Matrix_rc1 Discussion

Point taken, i’'ll try and be more specific.

Tried to get the debug info for half an hour starting recordings (SD->HD->SD etc).
Weirdly enough, the issue does not occur at all while in debug mode. Turned off debug mode and it happened within the first couple of tries.

This is what the crashlog said:

No idea why its looking for a whitelist (not using it) or why things would stall in a high speed local network. And any issue with playback should never crash Kodi imho.

Next step is try TVHeadend to rule out TVMosaic,

Well this is interesting, after using a 100% unmodified install. There is no WiFi at all. No 5GHZ, no 2.4. Nothing at all.
Tried rebooting after the initial install. Still no WiFi connections available.

For the record this is an A95X (S905x) box.
Thoughts?

Hello:

It’s not very important for me, but with version 19.5 rc1 I see this message with ssh access:

CoreELEC (official): 19.5-Matrix_rc1 (Amlogic-ng.arm)
-sh: warning: setlocale: LC_ALL: cannot change locale (en_US.UTF-8)

I think that I did NOT see that with 19.4 and it started after upgradint to 19.5 rc1. I’m not absolutely sure about this.

I’m using entware, too, with a X96 Max+ (S905X3).

Open file /opt/etc/profile and comment out the last 2 lines. Then reboot.

Done. Working.

Thanks

Update to the 19.5 and was not able to complete boot, back to the old version, attached the logs

Looks like this update broke auto suspend on my khadas vim 3. I use the turn off screensaver which suspends my vim 3 after 10 minutes, but now it always stays on and I hear the fan spin regularly. Does anyone have the same issue?

Hi
I had already installed CoreELEC 19.4 on the memory card. A few days ago, when I turned on my Android box and entered CoreELEC, the system was automatically upgraded to CoreELEC 19.5.

After booting the system, when I entered the settings, the CoreELEC 19.5 version was inserted.

Is this upgrade fully done?
Or do I need to manually make some settings?

  1. Yes.
  2. No.

My X96mini S905W has audio again after latest nightly, many many thanks!!!

Hi, Developers
19.5 rc1 changelog shows “Fixed h264 on some media not fluently displayed”
I have this one file cannot be played fluently.
I tryed software decode & hardware decode, neither played correctly.
Using Plex on SHIELD TV Pro it worked out perfectly.
My device is MINIX NEO U22-XJ MAX running CoreELEC 19.5-Matrix_rc1

If I remember correctly H264 High 4:2:2 Profile as an extension of Hi10p profile is not supported with hardware decoder.

how about software decode

It could be not enough CPU performance to process 4:2:2 10 bit profile with interlaced stream.

ok
no wonder
wish future T7 could do the work

Still ARM big.LITTLE architecture, don’t know if it is has enough hps to do the work properly…

Has something changed, reasonably recently (last few weeks to couple of months) - about the way CoreElec or Kodi handle HDR detection & triggering and the start of playback?

(I’m currently on nightlies for 19.5)

I have noticed in recent times, on several occasions, that HDR is not triggered on my TV for HDR files (or occasionally the wrong HDR - e.g. PQ instead of HDR10+ for example, or vice versa, is triggered). The same file, played and stopped multiple times in a row, will not trigger HDR then randomly suddenly do so.

I’m not exactly sure when this began (my collection only has a relatively small amount of HDR in it) - and will, on the weekend, look at trying a few older versions and begin to gather logs, but I first wanted to see if anyone else has been having difficulties (CE on N2+, via Denon AVR X2700h to Panasonic OLED)

Please check and if you find any problemática file please upload a small sample somewhere so we can check. I didn’t have any problems and just yesterday went through lots of samples with HDR/HDR10+/HLG

I had no audio even using 20220505 (and newer) nightly in my K1 Pro.

Comparing my kodi logs in 20220416 nightly with newer builds, I found no event “Enumerated ALSA devices” happened.

After some attemps to fix this I discovered after stopping pulseaudio and restart of kodi.service, kodi finds ALSA devices. So I did masking of pulseaudio as workaround:
systemctl mask pulseaudio.service

It seems this issue is unique for my setup as I found no other similar reports. Maybe I have something wrong in my installation or setup. Therefore no other actions are required for me

Thank you for your effort.
