I have an TOX3 TV Box Amlogic S905X4
I now have NE 21 Omega up and running . It plays all my files etc very well.
Its not a DV box.
This is where I am having issue. If I open a file i’m not sure of and its DV the Box hangs until a power off reboot.
Im using NG 21 on a different Box but in that one any files that are DV do not show up so there are no compatibility issues.
Is there a way to prevent DV files from showing in NE the same as NG?
Thanks Baz
i DONT GET THATPROBNLEM BUT ALL THE FILES i STREAM NTOONLY HAVE dv BUT ORDINARY hdr AND WITH9OUT hdr SO ALWAYHS LISTED AND PLAY ON ANYBOX WITHOR WITHOUJT dv
I don’t get that problem but all the files I stream either have or not DV but HDR with and without too so everything lists and all play on any box with CCE21 whether it has a -J DV enabled cpu or not. I have never tried a DV only stream I must admit and did nto know you coujld get such a thing??
Well further to my last post above I now bothered to brush up my ssh old skills and followed the not that clear remote wiki instructions and after almost 2 hours cracked it finally with the correct ssh command syntax, and got the code for the Menu button on the standard uGoos BT remote. So edited the UR01_BLE.hwdb file to add this line to map the Menu button to c, and replaced the one I downloaded from the CE remote repository and bingo now all working. I will post this now corrected hwdb file somewhere on the remote repository forum if I can work out how (I’m not good with forum protocols I am afraid to say)
So incase I fail I will also upload it here if I can for those in the know to copy it across to where it should go as many others with the X4Q boxes will I trust appreciate this amended remote file.
PS no I do not seem tobe able to upload a fiel here ???
Finally I want to report a bug with the latest CE21 -ne compatible updated PVR Simple Client addon. All works almost perfectly except when playing back a catchup program from the EPG I am unable to skip backwards or forwards whilst playing the content without the box crashing and soft rebooting. Skipping back and forward though works fine in normal video streaming content of playing a video file form my external hard drive or NAS. So I can report this bug with the PVR Simple Client addon.
Let me know if a log file is needed and I will try and copy it over and post it here. But if others are getting the same problem then it is a bug with the latest Simple Client addon not my set up. It works fine with CE20.5 -ne BTW but I did notice on migrating up to 21 -ne it auto updated the Simple Client addon
Can you try this image?
edit: Text deleted. It seems I might have an issue with some file types or transcoding.
Might be Serviio. Will investigate further. sorry
Here is the working Speedtester files asked for in an earlier post.

Thanks bazzle. yes I already got hold of that version and works okay. The graphical dial does not work smoothly like before but gives the results needed.
Thanks vpeter. Sorry not been on here for a couple of days as been busy on other chores and projects but can now test this out and will let you know how I get on.
Okay thank you so much vpeter. Yes that imaged worked fine with skipping forwards and backwards with Simple Client from within the EPG now works perfectly. My box did then downloaded and “update” to the original 21.0 -ne and the problem of course returned. So I will replace it again with your dev image and set the updates to manual for now and test it out more thoroughly. I’ll let you know if I get any other anomalies.
Can I share this image with a friend to test too as he really misses the skip facility with Simple Client? We do though have a bespoke KODI addon a friend of mine wrote with some development help from me for IPTV which does work okay with catchup on 21.0 -ne
So yes I assume this excellent fix will be incorporated into the next stable release of Omega -ne
Please check if today nightly works (it has workaround included).
Build 20240424 broke all netbios links here. Dune 4k premier pro, Windows network shares. Only IP addressing works.
This is a long time back error of Samba. Use IP instead host name and it works.
Sorry for late reply but been busy here on other tasks and chores. Anyway now installed the nightly build and updated to latest nightly too. Just to confirm the skip forward and backward in the Simple Client catchup is working fine now so many many thanks for fixing that.
However I have another problem with potentially a bug. Spent hours trying to establish where it is happening but when I pair my BT remote and have it working fine including with each new boot up of CE 21, all seems fine. BUT if I need to go into crap Android for for my subscription app to Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall using the boot from EMMC/NAND option, but when I return to CE 21 Kodi my BT no longer works. Re Pairing it works fine until I then reboot CE21 but now it no longer auto pairs at each CE boot up. It seems that booting up into Android 11 somehow corrupts my CE 21 SD card as I have to reburn it and restore my back up for it to work properly again with each CE boot up but once booted into Android and back to CE than I get this failure.
I very much despise Android so is there anyway that CE can divorce itself form this crap Android OS?? It is easily the very worst OS I have ever had to deal with in the past 40 years as it is totally user unfriendly and kludgy in the extreme?? Wish the Berlin Philharmonic would write an addon for KODI as even the ATMOS service they offer does not work in stupid Android 11.
Try this and let me know if it works.
If it works then maybe this should be added to CE image to automatically repair itself
Did something change with PVR live TV since the 21 NE release between latest nightly?
Resolution is set to 1080p@50hz. When I switch between channels with this resolution it gives a short black screen . Sometimes it stays black till I press ok for infobar.
With the releas it works like it should and don’t change anything till I switch to a channel with different resolution.
Add-on for live TV is Waipu TV PVR and enigma2/vu+ PVR.
Thanks again vpeter.
Yes this one line SSH command did work for me with a major caveat. After running this SSH command I can again pair my remote, reboot CE and the BT remote auto pairs as it should on each boot up of CE 21.
However this is not a full answer as if I Reboot into EMMC/NAND into Android 11 and then reboot from there back into CE 21 then the BT again does not auto pair. If I then pair it manually it then no longer reboots into CE with the auto pairing again If I then run this SSH one line command again bingo it all works fine again.
So as long as I do not boot into Android 11 it does work but a full fix should allow a user to boot into Android and then back to CE with the auto paining still working. An interesting exercise though. So now I have to not use Android at all on this uGoos X4Q Extra box and keep an older uGoos X4 Pro box with an IR remote just for Android and my digital concert hall app. Unless you can find another of these amazing fixes.
Exactly, it works only when booting CoreELEC and when booting Android same issue happen.
That’s why the idea is to fix this permissions when CE is booted automatically. Need to think in next few days and then do something.
Sure I see that with auto running this command at each CE boot up. But will that mean one still has to initially re pair the BT remote each time coming back from an Android boot up as that would surely be needed still?? Sure it will at least then stick for further more usual reboots into CE.
anyway can confirm it dies what is intended Would be good if one could reboot back to CE from Android with the BT remote auto paired as it was when you last left the CE environment, Anyway great work and fantastic support, well done.
BTW a small side question I have still not seen an answer to. Why is it that it says in the hwdb folder readme file to rename the hwdb file to 99-xxxxx.hwdb as that seems to make no difference at all and seems illogical that it would??
Yes, after running Android you need to pair again in CE. This is old issue which we have no idea how to solve. Any useful pointers would be great.
It depends what you override in this file. The number in front means for ordering. If you set number 99 then it is processed after the system one and this means you can overwrite some buttons. Same effect you get if the filename is the same as system one: then user file has higher preference.
