CoreELEC Wont start on Amiko A9 RED

Downloaded the image, flashed it to my SD Card with EtchDroid, and tried to boot.
neither does the recovery button works and the “reboot update” comand.
please help.

Try flashing CoreELEC to a USB drive and booting from that instead. If reboot update doesn’t work with that either, Amiko might not allow booting OS’s from SDcard/USB. It would help to have a uart connection to see what’s happening with the box’s bootloader during boot.

will it boot from the usb 2.0 or 3.0 port?

Try both, the booting options are determined by the box’s bootloader, not CE. Without a uboot uart connection to see how the ENV is configured, you’ll need to guess and check.

then how could i get a uart connection?

Search youtube

First try booting from USB

i tried booting from usb md it didnt work, and i cant take the box part, then how i could see whts happening?

I don’t know of an another way. This isn’t an officially supported CE Box, and this is a relatively unknown brand.

What DTB are you using?
Did you rename it?
“dtb.img”

nope, when i downloaded, it showed options to specify the device, thought i wont have to select dtb from the file on the sd crd

100% sure you need to use a renamed dtb.
Thanks to Portisch for the edit

i dont think so because i specified it before the download

Generic image needs manualy dtb.img file to be copied from device_trees folder.
The file shown on download page is just information for you which file to copy.

no, i didnt download the generic image, i downloaded the s905x3 with 2gb ram and 100mbit lan, basically my box specs.

I think you should write exact steps what you actually did.

I assume you got image file CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega-Generic.img.gz and you need to copy sm1_s905x3_2g.dtb file to dtb.img.

youre right, thought that the dtb helper was a dtb selector, so is there a “non generic” image for this dtb :“sm1_s905x3_2g”?

Try that dtb vpeter noted first.
I normally Right click and Rename it to dtb.img in windows.
If there is already a dtb.img in sd card/usb root just delete or add an X to its name.

but THAT IS If im on windows, in android you cant view bootable drives, so i need an CoreELEC Image only with this dtb: sm1_s905x3_2g.

Please read again all tutorial as you get told multiple times how it works:
