Custom CoreELEC for personal use - Home Use

Hi all,

Newbie here, hope everyone is well,

So I’m looking into getting a Khadas VIM4, so I want to have CoreELEC installed on it, now the only difference is, I want it to have my own branding, this is just for home use, and thought it would be a fun project to try, so I managed to change all the logo’s that says CoreELEC to my own, including the splash screens and various images,

my question that I have is, is it recommended to update all text that reflect “CoreELEC” in the config files to reflect my own name? like a find and replace command, or will this cause issues in the building of the image?

I would just like some advice on what to do to get a successful build.

Thanks in advance.

So you want to remove every logo the developers have and use your own branding, but now you need help from the developers. It’s their project. Not yours. Private use or not.

If I were you, I would learn a bit of respect and address with some decency, if it’s a problem, then respond with more kinder words and not insults, and from what I can see on the community guidelines, you’re supposed to criticize ideas, not people, calling me a tool isn’t exactly criticizing the idea now isn’t it?

and it’s called advice, not help, learn the difference.

Dude, you’re basically stealing a project. You should be banned.

So ban me then, Just say it’s best to rather respect the developers and keep their branding on the system and I’ll abide by it, but seriously “dude” learn to address properly

All written I think.
