Fast device upgrade - copy partition?

I have changed from a Q-Box (S905X) to a GT King (S922X).

I have a couple of builds on SD for the Q-Box and wondered whether it is possible to copy the contents of the FAT32 partition of the GT card over to the Q card as a dirty way of upgrading without losing all the other config - and to have a big piece of upgrade work.

Am I hoping too much?

If you plan on running the same ce version it should work.
I always use a clean install and restore backup, which is practically the same thing.

Just try it out…
