Have anybody tried and have success in sdr to dv? I have black screen and then blue/pink distortions in gui. Also tried on fresh system with latest nightly / dovi… This happens only if I previously play regular dv file. If after reboot I play sdr file, it don’t have black screen / distortions. Sorry for bad english / lack of knowledge to better explain. So, sdr to dv - works only if I don’t play any regular dv file (tried all profiles, 5, fel, 8.1)… I have send log file few days ago, but nobody answer. So, did anybody have any of this issues? And does anybody have success in playing dv file, then playing sdr file with sdr to dv tonemapping?

I just want to confirm the same VS10 bug with either SDR or HDR to DV. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to post my logs until tonight.
AM6b Plus here.

  1. Playback: HDR10/SDR files converted to DV via VS10 fail to render (black screen) if a native DV file was played previously.

  2. GUI Distortion: After stopping the failed playback, the GUI exhibits severe pink and blue color distortions (chroma/matrix signaling issues).

  3. Recovery: The GUI returns to normal only after a full reboot or by successfully playing another native DV file.

  4. Contradiction: VS10 conversion works perfectly if it is the first thing used after a fresh boot, provided no native DV files have been initialized first.

A big thank you to everyone involved who made this possible.

The DV in SDR did happen when the display mode did not change.
This is why CE always recommend to have GUI in 1080p!

Forced mode switch will be working again with 20260513.

The FEL playback stutter issue isn’t some unsolvable mystery. Anyone who actually checks the logs can see exactly where the problem lies.

It doesn’t need 150 random commits from forks where are 99% are useless formating commits. Just fix the damn root cause instead of slapping stickers on it. That would actually help users.
The changes of such forks can and will not be upstreamed as it comes equal a complete rewrite of Kodi. This makes it impossible to stay aligned with the origin of the project: Kodi.

And let’s be honest: the narrative that all the real FEL work was done by someone outside CE — who then got banned — is getting ridiculous.

If the logs clearly show the issue, focus on that. Simple as that.
The ā€œrealā€ fix does need exactly a change of 2 lines in the code…

Before (current status):

After correct fix:

How long this issue exist for the thousands of AM6 users?
How long did it take me to fix it?
Ok, with debugging … 2h?

The best mystic about this stutter: SoC has not enough power

FEL ā€œstutter issueā€ should be closed with nightly 20260513.

Great! - which 2 lines? (I am curious btw)

great work, what player are you using?

That’s brilliant. Just set up my AM9 Pro and excited to try. Will provide logs when applicable for any future issues I encounter. Thank you!

Thanks Maestro

Thank you! :+1:
Can’t wait to get my AM9 Pro. :exploding_head:

I had a look, and CMV4.0 does indeed work now in LLDV. I can confirm it fixes the chroma weight bug.

I did not check but it probably also fixes the crushed blacks issues and over-brightening bug when the EDID is higher than the MDL.

FEL didn’t work on the Ugoos AM6B+, though. I’ll try to do more tests this weekend.

curious
didn’t work in part or in full?

i’m using an am6b+ and at least the sample test files work
even my custom BDMV conversion of the red screen one

I tried my red screen test file, the Power Rangers clip, and the Halloween BL glitch.

I’ll do more tests this weekend when I have more time.

definitely do retest, mine does the red screen one ā€œThis device supports FELā€
my BDMV version is a split of the original with dovi_tool then remuxed with dual video tracks with tsMuxeR and it also works
if it matters mine is flashed with slimbox as the primary OS, i would have to check which version 53.x iirc

my AM6B+ is passing on all the test files with LLDV, CMv4 adjustments are working. Regarding FEL, as well as the test files, there is also the notorious shot in Total Recall where Arnie’s spaceship is landing on Mars (I have the UK disc). In HDR10 there is terrible noise in the sky, it’s well-known that the base layer has a dreadful encode. When I enable DV the FEL is working and the whole sequence is much cleaner.

Can confirm FEL playback is smooth on the latest nightly and s905x5m. Great stuff.

Okay,FEL works flawlessly on AM9 PRO with both CMV2.9 and CMV 4.0.
I got the issue when after CE update playing DV file triggered only black screen and in CE settings there was no DV option.
After reboot CE was pink and purple.

For me the fix was to completely shutdown AM9 PRO and reboot TV. My guess it was HDMI Edid fault, but yeah, after reboot all worked fine.
