Actual i use a Amazon Remote. But i am not able to start the Ugoos with that remote.
I have the Ugoos version with the locked Boot loader - so Blob is not possible for me.
I also have a G20S Pro BT remote here. But i am not able to get it working with CE.
Tried to pair it via the integrated BT. CE says the remote is connected but its not reacting on any button press.
I tried also to get the information like via “remote:rr_bluetooth [CoreELEC Wiki]”
but the G20S isnt listed there after i connected it via CE.
I also tried to use the USB Stick which comes with the remote. But its not working, too.
Maybe some of you have an advice for me?
I want to be able to start and control the device via only one remote.
But not the original Ugoos remote - that device is crap.
Hi
I tried the G20S Pro BT remote too on CE. It won’t work even if you try to reassign the keys with a hwdb file, it’s not recognized as a keyboard emulation device.
The best remote that works with CE in BT mode and with power on/off using IR, is the Zidoo V12 remote.
It most certainly works, I use it exclusively for a month or so, the keys are easily programmable through Keymap Editor and I’m very happy with it. Unfortunately, I don’t remember very clearly the precise steps I took to make it work, only it didn’t take long to achieve it. I do remember that it did not work without the USB dongle connected.
You can try what it says on its instructions: For initial use, plug a USB receiver into the USB port of device and wait for 20-60 seconds to install driver of USB receiver. Move the mouse, the mouse cursor can move on the screen means that pairing is successful. If it is unsuccessful, press and hold [OK] and [BACK) buttons, LED light begin to flash. Pairing is successful when LED light stop flashing.
I seem to remember doing that manual pairing (italics part) and it might have been what made it work in the end.
Then I’ve just folowed the instructions for the learning function in order to be able to power on the device from remote and this was really easy and worked as advertised.
So the remote is certainly functional, don’t just give it up.
