Thanks @cdu13a for devel build. Now HDR2SDR on and off works. I have not yet been able to find right settings on my LG TV, so that I not have a satisfactory image for the HDR files played from Vim3. It still looks better with HDR2SDR on from X96 Max. But now at least I have the opportunity to try again when I have time, it seems that @pepeq has succeeded.
For now, the best solution for me is to use the X96 on LG TV and the Vim3 on Philips TV, even if my initial intention was different.

Any progress so far after one year for HDR2SDR tone-mapping ? Which box/chips currently have the best implementation for that ? Or new buyers should wait for something else ?
