Help, support CPM build

Anyone having handshake issues with Display-LED Dolby Vision? My Dolby Vision symbol triggers twice on TV (haven’t tried Profile 7 but have tested with a few 8.1) and my TV has inaccessible DV settings (can’t change Clarity or Brightness…) I’ve never seen it before.

Player-LED seemingly works but the color is not very vibrant and the blacks aren’t accurately deep.

I installed 21.1.1-Omega and updated to the latest CPM.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

My TV is a Hisense 100U8K.

Does it work ok with the latest stable build or nightly? I guess this has nothing to do with my builds.

Have seen a few people have issues with Hisense TV I think maybe not compatible with this box/kernel (just a guess based on DM 5 seen in the Dolby VSVDB online decode)

Unfortunately no - my builds are just for testing not a finished product, need to read through the forum to understand more.

Not sure. Happy to test. The update category warns against downgrading. Is there a safe way to rollback? I know you’re busy. You’re doing great work.

I think the better way if want to test my builds it put them on a separate sd-card away from your main install, saying that I have heard others opine that can just use the upgrade tar and should be fine to go with the nightly (don’t see why that would not work just not in my workflow).

Where does it say that, have never seen it? I regularly upgrade/downgrade for testing, and never had any problem.
To rollback just put appropriate .tar file in “.update” folder and reboot. If it’s a mismatched version you’ll get a warning, and update will not precede.
I have seen warnings when changing between different CE -ng/-ne/-no versions, but never if you stay on same version.

There’s a “Downgrading” section under the Updates section. Basically says “we won’t stop you but there’s a bunch of issues that arise and you’re on your own.”

Yes, there is. But when you use same main version, no issue to return one older nightly build.
Update will downgarde…
Used this lot of times.

Spent a long time reading and I am now playing Dolby Vision with VSVDB and it is showing up as HDR on my Samsung TV. Looks great!

One thing I’m having a hard time finding on the forum is what the HDR InfoFrame payload is for.
If you have time for a short description it would be much appreciated.

In the normal case it is set PQ/0, but can override this - more for projector usage where maybe useful - for your Samsung TV should be good to leave it off.

I need some advice on the following issue:

I couldn’t play a DV FEL test MKV (showing woman around 80s) file with the latest nightly build of Omega NG (it results in a black screen), but I could play the same file with CPM’s A2 build. (Both in Player-led DV with Homatics R Box 4K.)

Is there a difference between the two builds that could explain this behavior?

Why in Player-Led mode? Did you try TV-Led mode?

Because my PJ can’t do TV-Led. I need LLDV here (So I use HDFury to activate LLDV)

The DV black level test pattern works weirdly with LLDV with NG 2.1 nightly or CPM’s build compare to the one from Oppo or Panasonic.
The background of black leve test pattern is very grayish with NG 2.1.1 while it’s very dark black with Oppo/Panasonic LLDV.
NG 2.1.1 with Homatics Box can’t display 65 or higher black bar correctly neither even with CMv2.9 or v4.0.
Any insight? Thanks.

Hi,
I use the Ugoos with the custom build CPM for quite a while now and noticed that I do not need to additional features that CPM provides. Is it possible to just update to newest CoreElec version or will this break things?

Can just update

Hello. As the title suggests I am having an issue with audio. My hardware is as follows:

  • Ugoos AM6B Plus with CPM A2 build installed on top of the latest nightly (as per the AM6 install guide)
  • TCL 75 inch C745 TV with full audio formats supported and HDMI 2.1 eArc passthrough into;
  • ONKYO TX-NR6100 AVR with 5.1.2 Atmos setup

I was watching The Invisible Man 4K remux using TrueHD Atmos and after about 45 minutes of so the audio quality slowly dissolves and this intense staticky distorted sound creeps in where the characters voices are unrecognisable and it just sounds like feedback almost.

Pausing it and then playing again corrects the audio back to normal. I’ve had it happen a couple of times in the past but have just paused and played again without looking any further.

Is this something you guys are familiar with and perhaps know of a fix??

Thanks!

First:
No log, no problem
There are three devices:
TV box
AVR
TV
Without any log it´s not possible to analyze this issue

How do I provide a log?

Thank for for the idea, this have inspired me! :slightly_smiling_face:

I started an discussion about it in @cpm his repo if it’s possible to add this to PlayerProcessInfo.

If anyone also likes the idea, please feel free to join the discussion on github.
