Hi today I’ve ordered a new tv for my bedroom and my plan is to plug my old mecool m8s s912 device with coreelec into it and I would like to know if it’s possible to use the s912 device to playback media wirelessly that’s stored on hardrives connected to my vim3 downstairs? The vim3 is connected to my router via Ethernet but the s912 upstairs will be connected by WiFi. If this is possible would anybody be able to help me with what I need to do to set it up please

Yes, it is possible and it works very well for me. Study Kodi a bit in Videos->Files->Add_videos->Browse->Add_network_location.
Kodi supports many communications protocols: Samba, NFS, FTP, …, but first you will have to start up a server in VIM3 if you have not already done so.
