Heretic Question can I have CE "without" CE .. without Kodi

Hi to everybody
I have a rather strange question but …
I want to check if CE can be used in another way as its the only distro for my S905X3 TV Box that works.
So can I stop Kodi from loading … I want to see if I can load another application.
SSH support should be great if it doesn’t require Kodi

systemctl stop kodi

stop and disable Kodi forever

systemctl stop kodi
systemctl mask kodi

to enable back

systemctl unmask kodi
systemctl start kodi
