Homatics Box R 4K Plus

I think it should.
To test

mkdir -p /media/data
# for Android 14
mount /dev/userdata /media/data
ls -al /media/data

and there should be files and folders

Just installed today’s nightly. Reboot to Coreelec ATV app still works  It has a slight freeze on splash screen at 1st time but it worked.
I applied dovi.ko from CE-NG Dolby Vision (+FEL) for DV-licensed SOCs (s905x2, s922x/z, s905x4)

Sometimes my LG CX switches between HDR and DV while seeking through a FEL test file, it didn’t happen on older ATV. Is there a new dovi.ko file which could fix that or it doesn’t matter?
I see someone pulled it from ATV14 and it has different size Homatics Box R 4K Plus - #5462 by hungphutho

Each kernel has its own dovi.ko, so one pulled directly from Android, which is 5.x kernel isn’t going to work on NG.
Does it stay in HDR or switch back to DV after you finish seeking? Is it a STDL or DTDL file?
Which Android version is your box on? Is it ATV14?

Yeah, Android 14. I used test files from DV FEL topic on this forum: File folder on MEGA

Is it a STDL or DTDL file?

I can’t even find those shortcuts on net, i don’t know :frowning:

Does it stay in HDR or switch back to DV after you finish seeking?

It stays like that, a frame from file is frozen but file “plays”. Then when I seek forward or backward again, then it switches to DV again and it works

The file I used is BL_EL.mkv from that MEGA folder

I actually tested with the same sample and didn’t encounter this problem.
In either case I don’t think it has anything to do with ATV14, it must be some sort of other issue.

@TheCoolest ,
Thank you for this. I tested under ATV14 homatics revB and revD.
Files: Dolby vision p4 ,p5 ,p7 MEL, p7 FEL, p8 mkv , mp4 and ts.
HDR10, HDR10+, HLG. All working fine for me. :+1:

Unfortunately this no longer works.

I upgraded to ATV 14 and while booting the new CE-NG nightly, I received a mount_storage error. I managed to get back into CE by removing the “coreelec=” line from config.ini thereby booting CE completely from USB again.

There is still a “userdata” under /dev, but it has a purple color and shows as:

brw-rw---- 1 root disk 179, 23 Feb 27 2024 userdata

And trying to mount it gives me:

And dmesg says:

Works perfectly in NO and ATV14, though.

Nightly working correctly on ATV12
Thanks @TheCoolest

That’s good to know.

But the point of the new nightly was to get CE-NG working again on ATV 14 in order to still have FEL support.

I guess I can do a temporary install of CE-NO to recover my /storage partition and then go back to running CE-NG fully from USB again.

Unless there is a way around the error I’m getting, but if it’s a shortcoming of the 4.x kernel, I guess we’ll have to live with it

EDIT:

Managed to boot to CE-NO and recover the coreelec_storage directory that was on eMMC. The CE-NG 20250113 nightly now runs from USB again with FEL working.

@MauriceW67

The NG nightly fixes ATV14.

I just verified that it didn’t break ATV12 since that is what I have installed.

Not sure why you’re telling me this? I am aware that the nightly fixes CE-NG for ATV14. I was just pointing out that with ATV 14 the “trick” from @vpeter that moves the data in /storage to eMMC no longer works withh ATV 14.

EDIT:

Another issue also popped up where Kodi running under ATV 14 will no longer play videos when using (legal!) addons to play content from Disney+ or Max. But that’s for another forum.

Hi, I updated to the latest nightly and now I receive the following error? Am I able to change the ini as mentioned above?

This looks like a bad boot media (ie. your USB disk is probably bad)

Hmm, it worked right before the update. So maybe using a different usb stick?

In the case I have to create a whole new boot stick. What is the best version I could use currently? The Ng or the ne? Initially I used the stable and enabled nightly build in the settings.

I have updated to the latest nightly (2025-01-13) and it’s working great however I don’t see any option to reboot to android. Can you please confirm that this option should be available to me? Thanks very much for your help and efforts.

Are you on Android 14 too? I’ve checked on my device and it was there for me.
Please run blkid | paste in ssh and post the link here.
