Homatics Box R 4K Plus

Mystery solved and NG does work fine with Android 14.
We’ll need to fix something on our side to make it recognize the new situation with this A14 update, but it does work fine.

Very good news!
Thanks

Congratulations!

Especially since CoreElecNO is not yet perfectly stable on this box in addition to using Kodi 22, which is also in Alpha version.
I didn’t think that the NG version would be supported on ATV 14 given the recent statements.

Well played

Can’t wait to test this

For UHD .iso files and BDMV folders, it’s always better to use something else like an Oppo 203 clone. It has never been Kodi’s strong point.
But for .mkv remuxes, I suppose CoreElec NG with FEL support is ideal

There’s no change in our schedule to “kill” ng. We’ll probably have community builds from a well respected (and veteran) team member.
The official focus will be to make NO a well supported generation.

Can someone with Android 12 or 11 post a dmesg from CoreELEC after a reboot?
ssh to it and type dmesg | paste and copy the url here.

Here you go:

i hope fix issue h.264 Hardware acceleration on NG build

What issue is that exactly?

The problem is that the video is distorted when H.264 hardware acceleration is enabled in PVR add-ons. When acceleration is disabled, the problem goes away, but the video runs slowly, especially at 4k.

This seems to be an issue with interlaced H.264 content, if I understand correctly.
This could be a codec firmware limitation and may not be solvable, and codec stuff isn’t really my strong suit, so I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up about this specific problem.

Hi

I am using the nightly ng builds on ym Dune 4K. Everything works, but the network speed is really bad. High Bitrate 4K remuxes really losing frames. is there any way to fix this? or at least improve it?

thanks

After update Android 14, Bluetooth can find devices… Help!..

You have to hide them, then.

have you try factory reset after update to atv14?

Whoever they are, eternal praise onto them!

Thanks CE Team for this;CE NG is the only software capable of decoding Fel afaik

I pushed NG fixes (sadly not in time for tonight’s nightly).
So Monday’s nightly build should work on ATV14 and also you should see the reboot from eMMC option again in the power menu.

You rock ! Thanks for everything

That’s great, thanks!

Will @vpeter 's method of having CE’s data partially on eMMC still work with ATV 14? Because I read somewhere that the partition layout has changed between ATV 12 and 14.

I don’t know. Some of the partitions use EROFS, which the NG kernel doesn’t support, but some are still ext4 and mount correctly.
I think @vpeter will know best, he has a list of the partitions and their types.
