Longtime i feel error of nonfunctional cec tv remote in kodi only after turning on of device through lan at Ugoos am6plus with 15th years old old tv panasonic.
That’s right, I installed IR, for CE but since the new update to 14.8.7475, I can’t turn it on anymore.
When I turn it off, everything shuts down—including the IR sensor—so I can’t turn it back on.
On Android, with the Rocktek G2, when you turn it off, the red LED turns on, which wasn’t the case with version 3717
If you have a working CEC connection to your box from your TV, and you can program the Rocktek remote input button for your TV, you can possibly wake-up the TV by that option and also the box, when “power off” is used in CE. The TV should wakes up the box, and box clean boots into CE after that.
But it really depends on how good that CEC communication works between the devices. It doesn’t work with my 10 year old LG Oled, it does work with my 2 year old LG Oled.
Edit: what @frodo19 writes. “we” created image files for the different SEI804 devices (Nokia, Rocktek and (Dune) Homatics R Plus), from the latest V14 7475 update and when using the clean AmLogic burn image way. IR gets “fixed” ![]()
Allright. When clean image burn with same ATV 14 fw version, the IR on mode working again. The CE can be turn on with the remote IR on button from the switched off mode.
I’ve been trying to boot CoreELEC on my Homatics Box R 4K Plus, but no matter what I do, I can’t get it to boot.
USB drives I’ve tested:
-
SanDisk Ultra Fit 64 GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive (the recommended one)
-
SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 Gen 1
builds I’ve tested:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.3-Omega-Generic.img.gz(+nightly one)
I have tried using both USB ports on the Homatics, the reset button method, and the Reboot to CoreELEC method (with USB debugging enabled).
-
When I plug in the power cable while holding the reset button, it gets stuck on the “USB burning mode” screen.
-
When I use the “first reboot” option via the Reboot to CoreELEC app, it gets stuck on the Homatics logo.
I flashed CoreELEC to the USB using balenaEtcher. I copied the correct device tree (sc2_s905x4_sei_smb_280.dtb) to the root directory and renamed it to dtb.img (ensuring the actual file extension was changed).
However, I can’t get it to boot no matter what I do. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me out.
I’m thinking it has to be one of these: the USB drive, the Android build/ version or something weird with the box itself. My guess is the build/version is the most likely cause.
-
Android TV OS build: UKG3.250803.001.7475
-
Box R 4K Plus SW Version: v14.8.7475
Maybe you can try to use Rufus instead of Balena? I’ve always had good experiences with Rufus.
Try to disable USB host in development settings.
Should not give a problem for CE booting when active.
Before 7475 there was no problem for me too. But after 7475 update my Premier 4k pro only boot to ce if usb-host is disabled.
So why give it no try
?
We talked about it a few days ago on kodinerds… do you remember?
I get the EXACT same booting issues with the SanDisk Ultra. I can’t get it to boot on my Dune Homatics at all. I think that drive/brand/model sucks. Not sure about the Fit.
My Samsungs work great and consistently, over and over.
Off Topic:
SanDisk has sucked for years concerning USB drives.
I’ve been using the Samsung Fit exclusively across at least 10 CE devices and never had any issues from them.
They even work great for Live Linux and WindowsToGo setups.
I would suggest the Fit isn’t the cause of any issues based on my own experience.
I have 3 Premier’s (don’t ask why
), revision one and two. I always have USB debugging active in the Android TV settings and no issues with CE booting, when I don’t use a certain brand and model as storage that is (Sandisk Ultra FIT 3.1). From the same brand, and in full size, their Extreme Pro 3.2 runs like a dream with CE, and so does the Samsung FIT Plus. So it is sometimes hit and miss with what storage to use.
I must say, all Premiers, and all other SEI804 devices I use for testing purposes, have at least got a Factory Reset or a clean image burn on them. So also with the latest 7475 build.
You have 3 times a Premier 4k pro ? Why ?
Hihi , just a joke
…
By the way, I don’t mean USB Debugging to turn off. I write about USB host setting…
Hmm, I’ll have to try a Fit then. Supposedly those are faster than the Samsung.
Yeah, that was the one I also meant. Also always active in my developer settings, so that one should also not matter for CE bootup it seems.
Hopefully not the Sandisk Ultra Fit I was talking about, that is the one to ignore. The Samsung should be fast also, but the Sandisk Extreme Pro 3.2 is the most fastest of them all (from the ones I tried). They all went up in price the last 6 months or so, but what isn’t ![]()
I use it with a 90° USB3 adapter, so it won’t stick out to much to the side, but points to the back with that adapter.
Yes, I was referring to Samsung Fit.
I also realize I might need a disclaimer.
Disclaimer: Having only purchased 1 SanDisk drive in the last 5 years (which was subsequently returned the same day for being a POS) my assertion that SanDisk has sucked for years might not be based on actual fact and more opinion based on drives purchased prior to 5 years ago which are no longer on the market.
