Librespot stopped working

Hi all,

I was using the Librespot AddOn for a long time without issues.

Now, the AddOn suddenly stopped working on older Nexus and latest Omega system setups.

In the log file see these notes:

*** WARNING *** The program ‘librespot’ uses the Apple Bonjour compatibility layer of Avahi.

*** WARNING *** Please fix your application to use the native API of Avahi!

The Libespot client is visible on my Android phone and it can be selected. But songs do not start to play in CoreELEC.

Is this a common issue with the AddOn, or is this maybe specific for my setup?

I am using a generic Amlogic S905X3 box.

It seems that the Librespot AddOn requires an update due to a recent change on the Spotify backend:

Moode version: 9.4.2 2025-10-31 Spotify Connect playback is currently broken in… moOde, with tracks failing to start or skipping continuously. This is due to a recent change on the Spotify backend not handled by the current librespot version. The upstream issue is tracked at librespot-org/librespot/issues/1623. The fix is included in the new librespot v0.8.0. Please update the moOde package to incorporate librespot version 0.8.0 or newer to restore full functionality.

This means only for CoreELEC Piers systems and not for Omega?

CE 21.3 was marked EOL by the CE Team on Nov 4 so that means nightlies and addons too. You could build your own. All the active CE forks that are out there now are forgetting the infrastructure needed to support addons, maybe they can create their own?

Some addons are build also for CE21 like pvr and so on. But librespost currently doesn’t build.

Librespot will be available soon.
