Rules of Engagement (2000) - FEL
Thanks for curating this list. A suggestion for the future: I think it would be helpful to also include the bitrate of the enhancement layer, and what proportion of total bitrate it is.
Thanks again.
The Eiger Sanction (1975), Two Mules for Sister Sara (1970) and The Count of Monte-Cristo (2024) - all 3 FEL
Also, Airplane (1980), Top Secret (1984), Contempt (1963), The Magnificent One (1973), Dressed to Kill (1980), Silver Bullet (1985), Needful Things (1993), Sudden Death (1995), Galaxy Quest (1999), The Hunted (2003) and the The Wild Robot (2024)
I’ve updated my Music Media Helper application (Windows Only) to add DoVi EL type (FEL or MEL) when scanning user libraries: Example scan:
The grid data can be exported to a formatted PDF or to Excel etc
You can get the installer and/or docs etc here:
Anyone knows any FEL tv shows?
i have only encountered game of thrones
Westworld Season 1 is the only one I know of.
The Crow 2024.
according to blu-ray.com are all westworld seasons MEL
And later in the same thread Season 2 is indicated as having FEL… https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=17577206&postcount=2690
2mbit for FEL is not that much.
this is the reason for my question in earlier post of me, asking which requirements do we use here for FEL…and i didn’t get answer for my question…
i got all seasons of westworld on uhd-disc.
i will update this thread when i get time rip the disc’s
Correct me if I’m wrong, but 2Mbps EL can also just be a blank 1080p stream, which essentially means it’s still MEL. This is accdg. to RESET_9999’s DV google sheet.
yes, 2mbps EL are usually MEL but just check the RPU flags to be sure.
That was not my contention, that Season 2 is FEL, I have merely quoted a post from the topic mentioned by @ari2asem to show that there’s contradictory information there.
However, the two screenshots of Episode1 of Season 1 are taken by me, and MakeMKV sees it as FEL. If that software is wrong, then I am wrong too.
Anyway, I do not feel the urge to persuade anyone of anything, so just go ahead and believe what you will.
You’re referring to the HDR String portion right? I think the HDR string from Mediainfo doesn’t necessarily indicate if the EL is MEL or FEL, specifically in this case where the result is MKV P7 ST-DL. I think if you put both DV DT-DL MEL and FEL into mkvtoolnix it would output a file with that same string, just now it is in ST-DL.

From RPU
Profile: 7 (MEL)
DM version: 1 (CM v2.9)
So the RPU is the most accurate
The only way to be 100% sure is to check the RPU flag…
I just did and I can confirm that Season 02 is MEL

I think there’s a bit of misunderstanding here… My screenshots (of MediaInfo and MakeMKV) are of Season 1 Episode 1. In my initial post regarding Westworld (which I now regret making, since my primary interest is FEL movies, not FEL TV shows, and I am now drawn into a dispute which I had no intention to start) I have also specifically mentioned Season 1 as being FEL, not Season 2.
I have only made referrence to Season 2 (by quoting that post) in order to show that the info from that topic on blu-ray.com is sometimes outdated or contradictory. I do not, myself, claim in any way that Season 2 of Westworld is FEL…
Yes, season 1 is FEL.

It has the lowest FEL bitrate I have ever seen and it’s basically useless(doesn’t add anything). Westworld.S01E01.The.Original FEL vs BL | Slowpoke Pics
Yes, I think it’s one of the least meaningful/impactful HDR I’ve seen. There’s barely any visual difference from the SDR version.
