Move Docker location to USB HDD

I have the Docker add-on installed on my Odroid C2 running CoreELEC.
Everything works fine, 10 containers running without issues. But when I pull some images, it takes a long time.
I was thinking about moving the Docker installation to my usb hdd instead of running on the slow SD-card.
Any cons of doing that?
What I can think is: if the docker add-on has an update, what will happen?
And the usage of my usb hdd will be greater (right now it only spins when I am using media).

I’ve seen this guide to move the installation: https://www.guguweb.com/2019/02/07/how-to-move-docker-data-directory-to-another-location-on-ubuntu/
