CoreELEC, latest version on my “Le Potato”

I have the same issue.

Tried installing from the repo and directly from zip.

Device: Minix U9-H
CoreELEC (official): 9.2.2
Kodi 18.6

My workaround is to switch off InputStreamHelper, but then I get 1080P max only as its on software decoder.

Please help how I can get past the Widevine CDM decode error: “UnicodeDecodeError: ‘ascii’ codec can’t decode byte 0xc5 in position 29: ordinal not in range(128)”.

Seems like my download completes successfully and then the extract fails with the error above…

Thanks @Tim_Taylor, do you think its OK to run without InputtreamHelper? Widevine CDM install fails as per my log

I know You could watch max 1080, because the limitation of software decoding.

If You own a 4k TV, You could use netflix app from TV

True and that works, but then my Atmos passthrough does not work, as my TV does not pass the audio unencoded.

Fire TV cube is able to play netflix 4k and atmos

Netflix 4K content can be viewed in 4K in Android Kodi via the same addon on Netflix ESN enabled Smart TVs.
I preffer it, because you can add external subtitle tracks, for example.
It’s sad that Prime Video addon can’t do the 4K the same way…

It’s an “inputstream helper” issue, for more info read this
Btw, Netflix Kodi addon has only software decoding possibility…

This is my log…please any help because iam new…
Thanks

First, install from .zip file new version of "inputstream helper from here. When finished, open it and update Widevine lib.

Second, make a new, fresh CE installation and install only Netflix addon. If it then NF does not work, report here to addon developers.

Thank you very much…i instal the update and playing very good…

Hi, I am new to this forum. Just installed Coreeelec on SD card, and wanted to ad netflix addon to Kodi. It went succesfully, but it does´t start playing videos. I can watch trailers, but not movies. Tried it on android 9.0 system on my H96 Max box and it went normaly. Could it has something with widevine? Thanks

Just reinstall Widevine via “InputStream Helper” (Program addon) to the latest version to see if it solves your problem.
If it does not solve the problem here is the place to ask questions and get info and help directly from addon developers.

Edit: just read on NF addon forum that the latest Widevine breaks latest addon version 1.9.1. To solve this, either go back to older Widevine build (in InputStream Helper addon choose Restore Widevine CDM library) or try installing older NF version 1.9.0 or 1.8.0 from repository
