Hey thanks. I was following a guide that told me to install it on both the SD and SSD. I’ve gone in to do a fresh install and completely removed the boot in the SSD and it’s resolved now. Thanks
On an Amlogic S905X4 device (Dune HD Pro Vision 4K) running CE 22 nightly, video playback sometimes (1 in ~20 times) enters a state of persistent judder after a pause/resume or stream stall/recovered. Visually It looks almost as if AFR is not on (it is).
Unlike a hard freeze, /sys/class/video/frame_rate doesn’t drop to zero, but shows significantly wider variance around the target framerate (e.g., ~44–49 fps instead of a tight ~48.5–51 spread at 50 fps target). dmesg shows that the cal_dur_from_pts sequence after a decoder re-init occasionally aborts partway through without completing the pattern detection. Another manual seek re-triggers the decoder init and successfully restores smooth playback.

On 20260904, I’m getting broken seeking on h264/aac videos. I try to skip forwards and it jumps back, seems random how far it skips, and sometimes freezes.
Fixed by reverting to 20260902.
On an X96 X10.

This happens on all night versions. It’s been happening since I started using NO in March. It’s not a common issue (1 in ~20 times as I mentioned); with movies, it can be easily fixed by seeking, but it’s annoying with streams, as you have to restart them to get them running smoothly.

Is the constant stuttering after pausing/resume a known issue or is it just me? I don’t experience it very often.
For me its stutter very often after pause/resume, one or two times seeking back (10/20sec) will fix the async. Also Stop and Play will fix.
But actually it is more important to get a fixed and working Version for AM9 Pro FW 2.2.0
Hmm, that’s not often the case for me. Could you check the VF.fps value using cat /sys/class/video/frame_rate? Does it fluctuate as much during the stutterring as in my example above?
In build nightly 20260907 on device Xiaomi Mi Box S 3rd gen, the issue with the VC-1 codec at 29.97 interlaced fps still persists; it keeps skipping frames continuously.
Probably not without instructions.
The stuttering is simply due to the asynchronous playback. Seeking back once or twice do fix it.

I don’t know if this makes sense, though. It doesn’t explain the reason for the fps discrepancy. And the CoreELEC team is keeping quiet (I don’t blame anyone and I don’t demand anything in any case).

Actually I’m using the build nightly 20260907, I encountered a bug while playing a video encoded in VC-1 at 29.97 interlaced fps, it keeps skipping frames.

We’d appreciate it if you could avoid posting repeatedly about this — it’s an old sample with some known issues.
We’d recommend transcoding it or removing it, as the sample doesn’t play smoothly on any Amlogic SoCs.
I did some testing, and now seems it’s happening more often for me, about once in 10 pause/play times. In older nightly versions, it seemed to happen less often.
I also noticed that if I open the standard Kodi OSD (with a seekbar and control buttons) while constant stuttering, the movie plays smoothly in the background and there are no fps fluctuations in /sys/class/video/frame_rate! But as soon as the OSD window is hidden, the stuttering returns.
I’m sorry if I’m bothering you too with posting my problem. At first, I thought it might be a setting on my setup fault. But now it seems like it’s a bug. I’m not sure if it’s Kodi or CE.
I have that concert video file and do not experience any stuttering at all.
I checked resume after pause, forward and backward rewind - no stutter at all.
Running latest CE nightly on Ugoos AM9 (no Pro) connected to Panasonic OLED TV via Denon AV.
Maybe your receiver (TV or/and AV) doesn’t support 29.97 ?
