Not able to access coreelec via SMB due to internal IP change

Hi, my router restarted and reassigned WiFi internal IPs and now I can’t access my ugoos am6b+ from file explorer.

Basically the ugoos can still access media from my computer (because the computer is connected via ethernet, so the router kept its IP), but my PC can’t access the ugoos since its IP changed (connected via WiFi).

I tried many solutions online but couldn’t get it to work. The only solution I can think of right now is to factory reset the ugoos, which I’d rather not do as I will lose my custom skin settings.

SSH is working.

Reboot Ugoos device?

Tried that 4 times

Use IP address instead of name?

Also reboot Windows?

I get this when I try to connect using IP.. I don’t have a username/password setup. I tried the ssh login but it didn’t work.

I’ll reboot Windows I guess.

Rebooted, still facing the same issue.

Did you read the yellow message?

Yes. I don’t have an organization on my computer.

But it looks like Windows is still blocking you.

True.. I didn’t check that until I was told to use the internal IP. I guess I’ll have to find a way around it.

Current way is to allow insecure connections, which I certainly don’t want to do.

Edit: tried it just to test, it works. But I will probably revert if I find a safer solution.

I might not understand the issue here but it seems to me you just need to go to your routher and see the ugoos ip address and then permanently assign it. Works for me on wifi and ethernet.

Thats what I did. In settings you will find the ip addy.

Then assign that ip in your CE settings where you assign ethernet.

If that doesn’t hold also add in router .

I always reboot Windows after change. (win 11)

I never had to set the ip in CE. When I set it in my router it just got discovered by CE.

I don’t know why you have to reboot your work station but I never use windows so I really don’t know if it essential.

Thats correct but sometimes it just helps.

Go to Coreelec in apps and just give a static ip and see what happens.

Forget my windows comments, I only mentioned it as I also use windows explorer and putty from there to see my CE boxes and I have to reboot occasionally.

Yea my router doesn’t let me perm assign. Thinking about changing it.
