Odroid N2+ DVB not finding channels (any more)

Until recently I could access all my region TV stations using a Sony Play TV USB2 tuner.

Identified as:

        |__ Port 004: Dev 009, If 0, Class=Vendor Specific Class, Driver=dvb_usb_dib0700, 480M
ID 1415:0003 Nam Tai E&E Products Ltd. or OmniVision Technologies, Inc.
            /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1.4 /dev/bus/usb/001/009

I was running 20.5 but started to get an issue where the PVR manager would get stuck at 0%.

So I tried clean install 21.2 and I am getting the same issue. On 21.2 it eventually times out and I end up with no channels.

I’m using the nextpvr client and server.

Troubleshooting ideas?!?!

I will turn on debugging

Try CE-NO!?

Sorry. What is CE-NO ?

Please educate yourself a little before.

Unfortunately both my Odroid USB network adapters aren’t supported by the NO kernel. One is at least recognized but fails to connect. So I can’t install any add ons to test the DVB.

You installed the DVB addon?

I can’t install anything if I can’t connect to the repositories.

I also tried a simplecom USB Wifi adapter which was recognised but it too fails to connect.

Plugin ethernet cable?

Not an option! LibreElec also had trouble with two of the Wifi adapters but managed to work with one. But that is a story for a different forum.

The kernel seems to be loading two tuners and I am not seeing errors about missing firmware. Does running find /dev/dvb/ show the adapters and frontends? If som might need to see your zipped NextPVR logs on the NextPVR forum. It might be the tuning file, DVB tuning files are crap on Linux.

LibreElec having all same DVB issues. I’ll reburn back to CoreElec and give you an answer. It will have to be NG though.

If the problem is the tuning file all Linux builds will have trouble.

Here is find output.

CoreELEC:~ # find /dev/dvb
/dev/dvb
/dev/dvb/adapter1
/dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0
/dev/dvb/adapter1/net0
/dev/dvb/adapter1/dvr0
/dev/dvb/adapter1/demux0
/dev/dvb/adapter0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/net0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0
CoreELEC:~ #

So off to nextpvr forum

Got it going! I just re-ran through the nextpvr setup again. An update must have reset nextpvr back to a clean state as there were no channels at all. Rescanned and rebooted and bingo!
