Odroid N2 test builds

So it should also with the setwakeup.sh script. Maybe a kodi bug idk.

Ok Thanks for looking anyway. I’ll see if I can find anything in some Kodi / TVHeadend forums

Hello, there are advances on “automatic switching color space / color depth” ?

Where is the CE odroid N2 source code for thoradia to update your addons?

I would guess here by the looks of it.

Found it. There’s a setting in Settings / PVR & Live TV / Power Saving called “Backend Idle Time”. Switching this off means it’ll always wake up to record.

It is working. Needs more testing:

https://test.coreelec.org/ray/CoreELEC-Amlogic.arm-9.0-devel-1555074085.tar

It includes cdu’s recent cs cd autoswitch.
This testbuild has a true 4K GUI (not scaled) as it was and default in 3.14.

There is a bug that cd only switches if attr is cleared one time (can be done in autostart.sh)

echo ‘’ > /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/attr

So is it working now?

Ok time for the AVR update.
AC3 5.1 (DD) is picked up correctly
DTS 5.1 is picked up correctly
5.1 channel DD+ is picked up correctly
7.1 channel DD+ is picked up correctly
5.1 TrueHD is picked up correctly
7.1 TrueHD is picked up correctly
5.1 DTS-HD MA is picked up correctly
7.1 DTS-HD MA is picked up correctly
DTSX is picked up as 7.1 DTS-HD MA (my AVR doesn’t support DTSX)
Atmos is picked up as 7.1 TrueHD, again not supported by my AVR
DTS-HD HRA is not detected at all, but also not supported by my AVR.

PCM can be simulated in the GUI if I recall correctly.
Enable stereo upmix
Pick number of channels
2.0 is normal
2.1-5.1 AVR remains in stereo mode, all GUI sounds sound like they are running at 50% pitch and speed
7.0 and 7.1
All audio is lost, AVR detects no audio channels

LPCM 7.1 has issue as above
Films with AAC also have issue as above

So to summarise, all bitstreaming is working perfectly for the formats my AVR supports.
Issue is with anything PCM (Kodi GUI, LPCM and AAC) which is generated by the device.
Selecting any channel value above 2.0 results in audio issues.

Edit
Looks like the multichannel pcm had been a thorn in amlogic for a while. Though looks like some progress has been made on the vero-4k.

Edit2 - add device and setup
Odroid N2 > Pioneer VSX922 > LG 4k TV

In new devel version name from 12th april:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.0-devel-1555076659.tar
what does ng stand for?

Next Generation
It landed there by mistake.

Got mine up and running. Did some audio passthrough tests.

N2 –> Denon X1400h –> 1080p Sony

Dolby THD/Atmos works
DTS-X works
No single DD+ works (Incl Netflix), but the one from AMZN. This one passthrough perfectly.

Does dd+ work with gui set to 4k? For me it works at 1080p but not 4k.

I just instaled it…, and don’t see it any more

DD+ / e-ac3 not working on my Yamaha RX-A3030 avr (hdmi).

First test 5.1 pass through : No sound at all
Second test 5.1 w/o pass through : Stuttering sound, random channel
Third test 2.0 w/o pass through : Normal sound but stereo of course.

The same file works fine on an Odroid C2.

Well I see that the audio stuff is gonna bring us some work sigh

@Sholander no harm if you did. We want to rename the project to Amlogic-ng.

I can’t test that, my AVR cant pass 4k

Yes it’s waking up perfectly.

This is great. I’m happy that you could setup the device how you intended it when you bought it!

DD+ doesn’t work for me with GUI at 1080p
