OSD Video: Chapter display problem

Try again with tomorrow CE-NO nightly.

Now the seek offset was set also on chapter seek (cursor up/down).
And when done normal seek (cursor right/left) the seek offset got cleared out and skin showed seek/chapter/seek/chapter…

Both itmes are also in Kodi upstream, so it’s not a CE fault.
So I am not sure how this could worked on another platform…

Thanks for your feedback and the nightly update.

I just tested it with version 21.2-Omega_nightly_20250406, but unfortunately the behavior remains the same on my end. When I skip chapters with the up/down arrows, the OSD still displays “time jump” instead of the chapter information. However, yes, it works fine on PC.

Did I understand correctly what I was looking for? If you need logs or a more targeted test, I’m available to help reproduce the problem.

Thanks again for the follow-up!

I don’t think this is possible anymore. Maybe you modified something what needs to be reverted now. Try clean fresh, complete new install again.

It’s not a bug of CE, it’s more a bug of Kodi. We just did fix something on another place so this “bug” do pop up and not on other platforms.

Edit: true, the fix is only included in CE-NO.
Backport is not planned.

This fix above was done only for CE-22 and not CE-21.
But fix applies to CE-21 too and works.

I tried booting “CoreELEC-Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250406-Khadas_VIM4.img” via USB, but the screen remains frozen on Khadas. However with NG/NE images it works fine via USB. Strange

However, is there a reason why CE-NO isn’t appearing on Oowow?

Looks like a error in VIM4/VIM1S bootloader.
May Sandisk 3.2 does not work, VIM4 reboot.
Sandisk 3.0 does work without issues.

Use uSD or eMMC or older USB memory and try again.

And when reading my and your post you don’t have an idea? Really?

I’ve tried everything I have at hand, nothing works.

Asking my glass ball - sorry foggy.

Isn’t this stable enough to ask to host on the Oowow server?

Sorry, but I don’t understand, what do you suggest I do now?

Find one uSD card or USB stick which would work.

Or use my workaround for CE21 because fix above will not be backported to CE21.

Or just ignore this chapter issue.

Thanks for the insight.

  1. If I compile your patch on Kodi 21, will this change remain after daily updates?

  2. What are the requirements for CE22 (NO) to arrive on Oowow?

In the meantime, I’ll try other storage media… @Portisch Can you give me the exact reference of the micro SD that works for you, please?

  1. No, update “overwrites” Kodi and everything else.
  2. When CE22 will get stable version it will be there.

Try with some cheap 16GB uSD card.

There is also option to write custom image over network to eMMC when oowow runs. I can find instructions tomorrow. But this erases everything you currently have on eMMC.

I’ll try this one. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll give up and patiently wait for the stable version of CE-22.

Thanks again for everything.

I confirm that unfortunately it doesn’t work with this card either. So I give up. Thanks anyway.
